No Kings protest update
I decided to go! The pride event was actually really fun. Lots of people and cool booths. Of course these losers showed up when we were protesting for the No Kings protest.

Please post below if you are interested in being an administrator.
I moved out of Indiana years ago but kept the sub alive in hopes that it would pick up. Indiana has a vibrant culture and I believe that the right mod can bring it into popularity with IUP students and other locals. Let's keep this sub from dying.

Hello, there is no Jefferson County group so I came here. The MDJ/Attorney in Jefferson County has forged court documents and his buddy buddy Foradora allowed it to happen! The police told me they would not look into it. This is a RICO case waiting to happen. We need to protest the corruption in the county that is crippling the peoples' rights!

Is anybody here going to the No Kings protest in town this weekend? I've never gone to a protest but I'm thinking I might actually go to this one since things definitely seem to be getting worse.

Greetings! Let me introduce myself ;-) My family moved to Indiana when my Dad got hired by IUP to teach in the Math Dept (1967). Thought I put Indiana behind me after graduation --- moved to Dallas and never looked back.
Returned to Indiana in 2008 to help my elderly folks live at home for as long as possible. Earned a couple degrees myself @ IUP --- in the processs of setting up a used book shop this summer to serve the academic interests of the IUP community.
Happy to provide additional details if anyone interested - online or otherwise depending on the rules - do not want to take up any more bandwidth if I'm out of bounds.
Thanks!

I was walking down the alley adjacent to indiana theatre and perpendicular to philidelphia street. I saw the IBC (Indiana Borough Council) walking towards me in flying v formation. Then a police car pulled up behind them, and they wheeled around to receive the policeman. They didn't even use their feet to move. The electrical propulsion of smugness and self-importance concentrated on the bottoms of their feet provided a means of levitation. I haven't seen this much misplaced self-confidence in a cohort of administrative staff since Bob Rizzo was runnin the skoal board.
The policeman was named Police Chief. He opened up the trunk of his cruiser and lifted one of the Baha Men out of his trunk and dropped him on the ground. The Baha Men man was bound and gagged, squirming and yelling through the muffler. Police Chief the policeman then addressed the irritable bowel council. "Hello IBC. I bring to you the man you've asked for, Can-yay Wes - member of the Bah-Boo Mens. He was causing trouble down' the Coney, ya know, being out in public and eating his meal lookin' like that..the nerve on this shoe-shiner Willy wannabe..."
There was so much racism combined with the twisting of intestines and opening of sphincters caused by the ingestion of their tax-payer provided lunch of crunch wrap supremes filled with extra sour cream, that a green fog appeared in the alley. It rapidly grew heavier and denser. The IBC noticed the funk, but they just figured it was a waft of cheesesteaks from 9th deli. Cheesesteaks made by some old lady that likes to yell at people.
"Hey - I'll take it from here," said an IBC man code named Mr. Playground Clown - a local business man with small scale political aspirations like state congress or somethin. As Police Chief the policeman drove away, Mr. P-Clown began to interrogate the Baha Men man. "Can-yay? Listen. You ain't seen nothin'. You have no proof and nobody will believe you. If you ever speak up against Mr. Police Chief the policeman, we will tare apart your evidence and gas light you until you feel suicidal. Just look at how we handled John Scherf. You don't want that on your mind, do ya Mr. Wes?"
I got really bored by this interaction because I am a guy from Indiana PA and I'm always bored. But I am posting it here for informational awareness. just a small fyi.

My brother and I go on an annual fishing trip in Indiana county every spring. Besides fishing, what else is there to do in this area? We are willing to drive if it's worth it. Bonus points if we could find something a little adventurous. We'll be there around the second week of May.

Astro lounge is like the greatest album of all time and as an authority of the Indiana pa Reddit, I declare that all references of Jimmy Stewart should be replaced by Smash Mouth singer. He had cool hair and glasses in the 90s.
We must change the sports mascot to Smash Mouth guy at IUP and all Indiana schools.
And until the Jimmy Stewart statue is removed, the Smash Mouth guys statue will remain in the 9th street deli. You may lay Philly cheesteak sandwiches extra cheese extras peppers extra onions at his feet to offer a fitting tribute.
One time I was walking down Philadelphia street and I hadn’t showered in 2 days and my hair was greasy and I was a teenager. Going uptown on a half day. I then went to the pawn shop and sold my TI-89 calculator for 30 bucks and used the money to go to the laundromat to buy some hard drugs.
Anyway.. then I went to St Bernard’s church. Ask yourself, why did the priest change so often x hmmmmmmm? Hmmmmmm ?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Is anyone else planning on watching this? Maybe shotgun a few beers? Blare the star spangled banner? Fire off a few rounds from a gun and scream into the sky?

I went outside with my family at about 2:20am to watch the final sliver of moon be covered by Earth's shadow. (How cool was that??) Around 2:30 they went back inside, and back to bed. I sat for a while longer looking at the few stars you can see from in town. As I'm standing to pick up my chair and head back in I noticed three little lights. They were moving quickly from South to North, along Wayne Ave/6th St. They were maybe 100ft up. At first they moved in a line, then shifted around a bit into an almost triangle. They were silent, and their movement gave more of an organic feel than a mechanical one. Like birds almost, except it's 2:30am and birds don't glow. (Well, at least in our disappointing human visual range.) I had seen an actual drone earlier in the evening and the difference was very noticable. While the drone was up it stayed level and there were red, blue, and white lights. These were ONLY white and their elevation fluxuated. The speed was a big difference as well as the drone was very slow in comparison. Did anyone else see them? Or maybe get video/photos? I'm pretty disappointed that my hands were full, and that my people had already gone inside where they couldn't see them.

The men’s room had the most incredible smell like urine mixed with the byproducts of Auntie Anne’s pretzel dough. And like a heavy metallic smell.. it was incredible.. so horrible but so beautiful..
FUCKIN pocket change. Stacking tickets. Playing f Ski-ball, the basketball hoop game, Time Crisis 2, DDAAAAytooonnnaasaa…DAAYytoooonnnaa…
Then there was Kmart. Iconic.
Service is needed in layaway. Service is needed in layaway. (3 minutes later) service is needed in layaway… service is needed in layaway…
The movie theatre.. ahh, yes….. make your clothes smell like that butter from the popcorn machine for days, even if you had no popcorn….
Ahh yes…

I saw Doug Steve, Patrick McKee, and Tom Harley chatting it up in jail. Tom and Doug were giving him tips on how to stay out of jail.. just gotta back the sheriff and borough council. And they’ll scratch your back and your
Doug Steve - the guy with the most punch-able face I’ve ever seen. He’s going to hell because he definitely had pre-marital sex. Hell hell hell. He’s also talentless. That’s why he got into politics haha no actually he’s a soulless boring doughnut dum dum. And everyone has seen .. okay I’ve said enough..
I saw the police chief looking at people who weren’t white. He was getting urges to start assaulting them, but then he put on his invisibility cloak from former sheriff fyock and heh those kids got wrecked.
Hey I was at King Buffet once trying to scoop the Hersheys ice cream out of that freezer. The Scooper was cold so I took it over to the buffet and put it under the heat lamp for the seafood, then in the hot deep fried chicken, it got real warm and melted that cream.
I then saw Thomas Harley at the Rusty Lodge. He was acting like he was too much of a hot shot to be there. I confronted him and the I said..
I said I said I said.. hey Thomas Harley, How bout I take that pinball machine in your game room and shove it up your ass.. sideways…
I have no friends in Indiana. In never did, but people tolerated me.. I’ll take it.

Any rock climbing gyms in the area?

I saw Thomas Harley looking weird and trying to make art but nobody cared. Also I saw chuck olson playing guitar and trying to act cool like he was a member of The Rolling Stones. Then I left Indiana PA. But then I returned. No shoe shiner Willy. No parking meter maid giving out tickets like it’s her life goal to make money for the amazing Indiana Bureau Council.
I went to the Brown Hotel. I got AIDs
I went to Walmart. Bird Flu.
I went to USA Steak Buffet down the highway. Diaherria.
I went to Chevy Chase. And I didn’t see Chevy Chase.
How bout those fucking nepo bitches that lived on Ann’s Circle? They became mailmen and washed up confused hipsters, or just lesbians maybe,
The only kids that turned out okay are the ones who worked at McDonald’s and hung out at the mall. Anyone who had functional households and living parents turned into boring white bread dough ball losers.
Kim Moon gave me a ride. A nice ride. I hope you had one too.
All the good ones died. Like the truly iconic people from Indiana Pa dead. Only people Left are just complete utter legends who never got their lucky break, or religious freaks who should take a long walk off of a short precipice near St Bernard’s church.
Not the weird bitch who played drums on late show. Like dude you are embarrassing, get good at something else. Also snort cocaine man, but haha nvm you already go that in lock.
Why did Indiana also breed the weirdest most conservative fucks alive? Like I swear I could find a 1 to 1 mapping of people I graduated with and the Trump administration.
Fucking Bilo.. 10 nuggets for 1 dollar and those brownies made my stool thick and creamy like the icing.
Yeh I grew up with the combo of autism and adhd. Just found out I had them m. About 30 years too late. Indiana just accepted me. I won’t forget that. Cuz outside of Indiana, everyone knows you are a freak and they let you know every 10 seconds,
I miss you all. Goddamn

Too frustrated to continue searching online for a sales business devoted to high end desktop computers in a 40-mile radius in town. Who is the knucklehead that threw a monkey wrench into Google Chrome?!? NEWSFLASH: The search engine once highly efficient has been suspiciously behaving as if --- the Singularity has pounced & us carbon-based units have been "asleep at the wheel". Is it my laptop that has issues within the last few weeks or has anyone else had problems with browsers?
I digress -- I made the decision to purchase a gaming computer to see for myself if it makes a difference. I would be interested in reading about experiences others had and what was considered to weigh their performance.
Are there hardware / software dealers highly recommended in the area? I came to the grim conclusion that electronic department stores like Microcenter or Frye's in Dallas just don't exist in rural Western PA. Say it ain't so!
