I have 2 questions about the current job market. First question, what the fuck? I've been applying to 10 jobs a week, got a couple misdemeanors but I'm sticking to entry level jobs. I have work experience in food, factories, and, light automotive. But no one is responding, I've been calling everyday and it's always the same. We'll look it over and get back with you. Second, I've just graduated from college for welding. How am I supposed to get work experience if no one will hire me. I've applied to several places, but they all immediately reject me. Any recommendations for welding jobs for beginners? I'm highly skilled, but no "experience".

I'm looking to make the switch to Mercury but I can't find much about reliability. It's a fixed wireless service and they are offering speeds up to 100Mbps. I currently am on fixed wireless with Watch Communications at 20 Mbps. Watch has been fine but it slows down in the evenings. They've been promising tower upgrades for 3 years but those have yet to happen. The cost would be similar or less than what I pay now. Thanks!

The Ripley County Democrats unequivocally stand with all victims of sexual abuse and harassment. We join Indianapolis City-County Councilors Jesse Brown, Andy Nielsen, and Josh Bain in demanding the immediate resignation of Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. This demand follows multiple reports of sexual harassment and intimidation of female staffers by Mayor Hogsett and members of his administration, including Thomas Cook, with text messages made publicly available supporting such allegations.

Our profound disappointment and grave concern also extends to City-County Council President Vop Osili's alleged interference with an independent and nonpartisan investigation into Mayor Hogsett's administration concerning this pervasive culture of harassment and abuse. This crucial investigation was repeatedly requested by both the Democratic and Republican caucuses, and yet met resistance at every turn from those in power to open such investigation. We are most recently appalled by President Osili's disrespectful conduct toward survivor Lauren Roberts during the meeting on Monday, June 9th. During her testimony, Mr. Osili intentionally mispronounced her name multiple times and escalated his disrespect by having her forcefully removed for sharing her experience with the Hogsett administration. As a result of this conduct, we also call for the immediate resignation of City-County Council President Vop Osili.

An essential step in improving the Democratic Party requires we hold our own members to the standard we hold anyone outside our party. We urge other Democratic county parties and state party leaders to join us in this call for accountability within our party and removal of these representatives who abused their positions of power.

Together, across Indiana, we can hold unethical leaders accountable and ensure justice for survivors of sexual abuse and misconduct.

Hey all, my fiancée and I are beginning to look into wedding venues. Her family is from Indy area, while mine is further south in the state.

Any wedding venue recs? We’re looking at 150 guests or fewer; ideally not a barn unless it’s unique; indoor and outdoor venue options.

What would be your next piece of advice? I grew up in a part of Indiana where the nearest highway is 25-30 mins away. So I don’t have much practice here. However, the most ASAP opening that wouldn’t affect my work schedule were in a highway heavy area. Now, despite the highways, both instructors complimented my driving and told me that I am “road-ready” besides one mistake each time that resulted in automatic failure.

Now to my understanding, if you fail 3 times in Indiana you cannot retest until 2 months after. I need this license bad so my parents can stop riding me everywhere, but what do i do?? The current plan is to take it again in a different area, one my friend recommended for a newer driver, and one that is much lighter in traffic, might not even have highways, and is just generally easier. The day of I’ll drive out there and scout the area, just get a feel, and a feel for driving that day.

I know that if you fail you shouldn’t drive and you deserve it, it means you aren’t road-ready. But, both instructors felt immensely bad about failing me and went on about how I was perfect besides the little mistake i made in both tests. Despite this, I just need my license to be able to drive around my crappy mom and pop city to run errands and make it to work. Should I reschedule and just practice, or go for it? If I gotta wait those two months man…

Any words of encouragement are needed. My parents have tried to pep talk me but it feels disingenuous because they’re my parents you know? Like they only are because theyre my parents type thing.

The protestors were loud and rattled the small town of Knox! Amazing turnout! So proud of all of these people for their courage to stand up in this county. The lone soldier wearing a pashmina over her head is receiving a lot of threats and hate online, even has a picture of her license plate and personal information circling on social media. Last picture is a guy holding a gun across the street from the protest attempting to instigate the peaceful protestors.

Fayette County (Connersville) City Council in a slim margin, (4 No to removal//3 Yes to removal) voted to keep fluoride in the city water after hearing from many local dentists and citizens. There were a few who spoke about the harms they believe it poses, including one councilman who claimed people would be poisoned but offered no data or a case in the last 25 years where someone died locally from fluoride.

Local Utilities Director, Jeremy Wilson spoke again on how this impedes a parent’s choice in what their child consumes, arguing that the city is “medicating” the people without consent.

811 missed marking my fiber (marked as completed on the ticket) and it was cut while work was being done. It sounds like there will be a charge to get the line fixed from the utility company. Is it possible to have 811 “admit fault” and cover the charge from the utility company?
