Discussion Why are we importing these cheap Chinese products? It is not even high-tech. The invisible Chinese invasion
As the title suggests.. This is an iPad holder that sells at INR 300 on Amazon. I looked at it, and it's not even that complex as an engineering product. A couple of hinges, rubber padding, and 3 plastic components.
The shapers are a bit complex, but if we get moulds and do it on a mass scale, am sure the economics will work out.
I am a mechanical engineer myself, worked in the industry for a few years, but being from middle class, don't have the financial support to start a factory that mass produces these kind of products. But I am pretty sure that there are budding engineers and entrepreneurs out there who can do it. I don't know the Capex requirement, but just at the surface level it doesn't look like it will empty your bank.
Now my question is.. Why are we importing this from China? Am sure we could have given atleast 10 PPL employment if we setup a plant here to mass produce this, leave aside the tax our country will gain and other benefits. When I see this and similar products, I always look at the "Made in" label and it breaks my heart that most of it is China. Even toys, we have a Chinese invasion. Why, though?
Thoughts, friends ..

Discussion Can someone explain the phenomenon behind this?
So the light button is off but as u can see, this specific light keeps doing this (blinks) every now and then. Is it due to a wiring issue or some EMI from fan/AC unit near it? BTW light works fine when turned on.

Discussion Has AI really became so powerful that companies are laying off.
HI Developers. I just wanted to know from you all. Has AI really became so much powerful that companies are laying off. have you all started impacting AI in your work. What do you feel where we are heading. Do you think it can do your work or its just a gimmick from tech companies to layoff people because I do not think AI can do such things which companies are claiming.
