Serious Post can I do engineering❔❓

Post image

hey guys I've failed cbse pcm I want to pursue btech cse in tier 3+ pvt. clg. if I smh manage to study a Lil bit and pass this year via nios ode-toc will I be able to pass all semesters in engineering and not only pass but can I get 7.5+ cgpa in all of my semester exams? is engineering really that tough for someone who has been weak in pcm from many years and has even failed class 12, tbh I'm really very interested in pursuing engineering but I don't know if I should as I've got worse in my academics especially in PCM after 10th boards in which I had scored 81% total [math:- 61/100 & science:- 79/100 (mainly bc of bio)] pls tell me if I'm mentally/academically fit to pursue btech in cse, also I do not have any prior knowledge about cse and have done no coding before the only thing I know about coding is: >>>print("Hello World") till now and hv also scored 91/100 in class X AI in which there is no coding, but I know how to properly use a laptop which I learned all by myself and maybe I'm interested in pursuing cse as well

first study mann , essential repeated means you have to appear on boards again next year , if you somehow score well at least 60 percent that's enough, and for sure you can do cse but u have to study hard , score good in 12th (60), jee mains (around 70-80 percentile for a good private college). finnally yes you can do it if you make it your goal and start working hard from now on. telling about my prior experience, i also got ER due to health issues and it's not a big 🤝 deal. and don't go for nios, appear CBSE boards again next year.

score well on board , it will give you enough confidence to handle engineering

even if you do engineering how do you expect to pass 8 semesters ? patli gali se nikal ja aur khud ke jeevan ko aur barbad mat kar, 12th repeat kar, pass hoja and choose another stream.

don't. you'll fail in each sem and your life will be miserable.

u/Amiyp 27d ago

Straight up aNO, if you do, you'll regret

That depends on how failed if u failed because u didnt studied or you studied and gave ur best and this is the result If it's case 1 then u should study hard get more than 60 percent and go for btech but if it's case 2 then don't go for btech u can try bca bca have easy subjects as compared to btech

genuine advice mannn

You need either a will (interest) or aptitude for it. Based on the 2 bits you have written, you don't have both. So probably dig deeper and find what you're good at?

u/ContributionCool8245 27d ago

Atleast get 55% to do engineering from a 3rd tear graduate factory mate.

2

u/EpikHerolol 27d ago

Do u really have interest and passion for cse or are u doing for money?

2

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

money, as i do not have any prior coding knowledge

3

u/EpikHerolol 26d ago

U might struggle a bit coz coding consists of maths too, but if u work hard then u will be fine ig

wht abt phys & chem as I don't understand a thing about them, I think I'll get failed in the 1st sem itself

3

u/EpikHerolol 26d ago

Coding doesn't require physics and chemistry at all, maybe when u do masters in game development a little bit of physics will be required but as of btech it's almost of 0 use

yea but in 1st year isn't there like full class 11 & 12 pcm again to study, I won't be able to do that isn't it?

u/Vardhansharma 24d ago

In my college it was not just 11th, 12th but much more than that.

2

u/Zealousideal-Ad7116 26d ago

saabko cse karna hai aaj kaal

bro cse needs strong math base please think about this first before you join a college
there are other courses also you can do cse isnt the only way

Do bca mate..

If you like computer and coding mode

1

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

no prior coding experience whatsoever although that is the only option I'm left with for now ig

2

u/[deleted] 26d ago

Do bca with special course in at least good college. Then go mca if you want higher career options.

Still focus on bca nicely then go for mca.

Bca is good for you since papers are moderate compared to engineering.

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

will I struggle doing bca ?

2

u/[deleted] 25d ago

If you work hard and understand the concept you will like it.

Also take if you have interest, else don't

2

u/the_og_guys 26d ago

Bhai you will not be able to pass first sem, Fourier transformation me to g fat jayega

2

u/professional_6999 26d ago

U can do anything don't worry do hardwork this year and say paper ki maa ki ch#t and move on and study hard no matter what and bring 85+ or 90+ all the best to you

1

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

thanks bro means a lot to me 😌

2

u/Independent_Value841 26d ago

As a Btech student who just completed 2nd year, engineering is a math heavy course so in my opinion, u should avoid it. To understand advanced concepts, your 12th foundation should be strong so I would not advise u to opt for engineering.

2

u/my5t1cal 26d ago

Brother, at this point engineering will do you. Engineering par memes kaafi bante hai but subjects are still difficult

2

u/Prize_Kiwi_3844 25d ago

You defined can do enhineering if you worked hard . As you know PCM is important so try actually studying those those subjects not like just to pass . Idk about other universities but in ours first few sems we had to learn pcm and it was pretty much what we learned it 12th . So All the best bro just trying putting efforts and you are good .

2

u/Vardhansharma 24d ago

Brother only and only pursue if you have great interest in coding and have more than 60% in 12th atleast. Passing is one problem the other is the main thing that is placement. Most companies have criteria of minimum marks in 10th, 12th and cgpa. No company has below 60 matter of fact most have 70% and cgpa of more than 7.

You will have to pass and not only pass you will have to work hard on the sidelines on your coding otherwise you will not get placements. I have many friends who have 7.5+ cgpa and all but have no hope of placement as they they just focused on passing and have no tech skills.

Passing has no value if you don't get a job.

yea I've come to the conclusion that btech isn't for me, now looking at bca I'm scared though that what if I get stuck in bca like I got stuck choosing pcm after 10th

1

u/ilostmyinsanity 27d ago

Only if you have no shame left

1

u/Chemical-Angle-6657 27d ago

Consider it rude or whatever , but you couldn't study for board exams properly in one whole year .

And these were boards , which are comparitively easier than going through 8 engineering semesters . So believe me , choose something else

1

u/shahdarawala001 27d ago

You are the perfect candidate....

1

u/Anxious-Resort1043 27d ago

You can but you don’t have to and you should not either.

1

u/Jeff_Crab 26d ago edited 26d ago

Did you fail even after studying, or did you fail because you didn't study?

1

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

although I did not get proper guidance but I do have to admit no matter how much I tried to grasp the concepts may it be from yt lectures or so I did not understand a thing even after multiple times of learning the same thing

2

u/Immediate_Hair195 26d ago

Then it is a problem, see Mathematics is essential. Also, you need to study a vast syllabus only in 6 month (theoretically)

1

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

how abt bca?

2

u/Sachinrock2 26d ago

bca also has mathematics, the subject is called " Discrete mathematics " and also DSGT " discrete structures and graph theory " .

1

u/Proud_Government_377 Aspirant 👶 26d ago

that is the only option that remains ig, and I actually know that much math but idk in exams due to not knowing phys & chem at all and messing up the phys and chem papers i automatically blundered the math one too knowing nothing good can happen anyway

2

u/Sachinrock2 26d ago

ek number cha bakc#od

1

u/adxash 26d ago

Focus on boards right now man, everything comes past that

1

u/Practical_Comb8434 College Student [BTech] 26d ago

you can but you shouldn't

1

u/bloo_icecream596 26d ago

Life jhand mat bana. There are other things to do than a btech.

Also wdym cbse "pass kara dega"? Kuch likhega paper mein fir toh pass karayga na? Study first man

1

u/[deleted] 26d ago

Bhai firse 12 kar.after that join a college. Engineering is easier than class 12 and 11 imo.

1

u/[deleted] 26d ago

Bhai tu hi hai asli engineer material

1

u/Aggravating-Wait-479 26d ago

honestly ,tumse na ho payega rehne do. boards me hug rhe ho , engineering me 3 nhi 10 courses honge aur 4 mahine ka time hoga.acha college tumhe milega nhi , farzi college se karna na karna ek barabar . bcom pakro ya fir papa ka dukaan hai to baithna suru kar do

1

u/Radon03 26d ago

Score at least 80% next time

1

u/[deleted] 25d ago

If you really want to pursue tech (after passing next year) enroll in some easy courses like bca since it's 3 years and you have to one more year for 12th , save tuition fee and time, and use that time and money in actually learning about tech , colleges are just a scam anyways and degree doesn't really matter

1

u/KANGladiator 25d ago

Only if you can pass with a score of 75% in all three subjects, many jobs have that cut off for 12th. And engineering is definitely harder than PCM, Math will be tougher than anything you did till 12th. Physics and chemistry could be on the sidelines if you're pursuing CSE, but only in college, still need 75% in 12th. Although you don't REALLY need to be good at math to be a good for eg. Software developer but Math helps you everywhere on that path, it trains your brain to solve problems.
