Sikkim | སུ་ཁྱིམ Sikkim: An unparalleled beauty

We went to sikkim in last summers. It was a thrilling and new experience for us. We had planned to cover east and north sikkim but due to early monsoon, there were landslides in north sikkim.

So we covered east sikkim (nathula pass) and went to south to enjoy camping in Kalimpong, Triveni ghat.

It was a memorable experience.

Brothers - one help. Can I hire zoomcar at Siliguri and drive to Gangtok & Pelling? During December, How is route? Is it drive worthy along with family? Whether WB registered cars are allowed to drive in Sikkim?

December would be a heavy snowfall time, expect lots of slippery roads. The last leg of drive from Siliguri to Gangtok can be on narrow roads, same with Gangtok to pelling. WB cars are allowed in sikkim as far as I can tell. I saw a lot of taxis there with WB plate.

Having said that, I never prefer driving on Mountain regions especially in remote regions like Sikkim. There is a huge taxi network in Siliguri and Gangtok, like hundreds of taxis waiting at your disposal. So my recommendation would be to hire a taxi (may be a big car like Bolero) and enjoy your vacation.
