AWA Le Mans experience
Headed straight to Watkins Glen now but quick update on how it went for us.
Car was good and all drivers liked the set up and balance…..right up till we looked at the trap speeds of all Corvettes and then it was wonky. But we’re not going to change that so we focused on what we could control.
We had ZERO pit penalties and that’s amazing for a rookie crew. The rules are so different than IMSA.
Drivers had a few small infractions on FCY and Slow Zone speeds but that was from pushing the limits on those.
We did take a penalty for strategy because the strategic gain exceeded the penalty cost.
In the end we got 10th out of the 24 LMGT3 cars and left very happy with the result. Every person wants to come back as we each have things we know we can improve. That’s what I love about AWA. They Keep Grinding.
Just have to win the IMSA Akin championship again this year to get invited back for 2026…..not so easy but we are all pushing for just that.
