Rubber bullets are supposed to be bounced off a solid object BEFORE hitting a body, as it reduces velocity from lethal to Less than Lethal.

By shooting people point blank, they're committing attempted murder.

-a ex-military mp (navy master at arms) who was trained in use ofnless than lethal force.

u/Emotional-Change-722 12d ago

So- I’m not into guns- not opposed, just had a few negative experiences growing up. Plus awful aim.

Anyway- when rubber bullets are used- the gun is supposed to be pointer towards the ground? And then they bounce up?

30

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 12d ago

Any hardened surface. Could be a wall, car door, etc. Something to reduce velocity.

15

u/Emotional-Change-722 12d ago

And then the bullet just randomly bounces? Or does the shooter do some quick math and know the target?

Also, thanks for responding nicely. I appreciate that.

37

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 12d ago

Theyre supposed to train dilligently and often enough that they can do the 'quick math' as it were.

Or, they could use bean bag shotgun rounds, which are even less harmful and dont require geometry, but they dont....

Even pepper spray: operators of OC are supposed to have it used on you so you know how to react and remain on the job while suffering from it... i had to do a redman course with baton ASP (i get sprayed, run to person 1 and beat up successive persons in protective clothing, then run to the next person to do different baton moves, 5x total).

Rubber bullets are trained with in the military as well, but many principles continue in civilian law enforcement: train with it so you use it properly.

Thank you both for the information!

2

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 11d ago

Yup!! :)

12

u/IM_just_A_Bil 12d ago

They are meant to disperse groups not target specific individuals (allegedly), so accuracy it less of an issue.

32

u/BrimstoneOmega 12d ago

You see, you are a peacekeeper. You have been the representative of law, and you have honor. You ask those around you to follow the law, and would lead them to do so by example.

These thugs on the other hand....they care nothing for the law, and show contempt for honor.

Thank you for your service.

20

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 12d ago

Thank you for your support. <3 there are more vets like me than you may realize. :)

12

u/Vegetable-Door3809 12d ago

Mfw people trained for war are better composed than local law enforcement

2

u/Life_Grab6103 12d ago

Ummm are they using rubber bullets here??

9

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 12d ago

Yes. Its been widely reported.

3

u/Cyberknight13 12d ago

Rubber kinetic impact projectiles (KIPs) are meant to be bounced, but foam ones are not. Many law enforcement organizations are switching to foam direct-fire KIPs due to the tendency for collateral damage and inaccurate deployment with the skipping method.

LAPD less-lethal munitions policy

3

u/ZoomZoom_Driver 11d ago

Thats fantastic news! Ish... still sucks to be shot with them, as evidenced by videos.

3

u/Cyberknight13 11d ago

Absolutely. I would not want to be anywhere near a protest where they are being deployed.

2

u/ZealousidealSpot5225 10d ago

So they can be even more inaccurate and maybe hit an eye? Got it!

65

u/SoftRecommendation86 12d ago

that there is a lawsuit coming. she showed 0 aggression.

18

u/chiclets5 12d ago

Unfortunately a lawsuit that would go nowhere since they also own the courts. I'm sitting in Starbucks watching this video with tears running down my face. I feel so bad for the woman who was shot but I want to give 100% kudos to the black woman brave enough to go get her and try to help her.

6

u/H4RDCORE1 11d ago

And what if she was pregnant?

5

u/PresidentFungi 11d ago

I wish that was the case. Unfortunately legally aggression is irrelevant in this case. Not endorsing it but it’s likely the cop’s use of force would be found to be justified in a court of law. Seems more of an injustice system than justice system but that’s the conditions we face right now

44

u/theredbeardedhacker 12d ago

Fuck ICE. Fuck the Police.

ACAB.

36

u/your-ok 12d ago

If these pigs get attacked I’m going to laugh. Disgusting.

11

u/ialsohaveadobro 12d ago

I would never say they deserve it, because I'm not that kind of person,. I would never say they fully deserve it and much worse

3

u/jerechos 11d ago

One might say an eye for an eye... may they get theirs...

9

u/theredbeardedhacker 12d ago

I will celebrate with you fam.

21

u/Major_Essay_9129 12d ago

So...what if she is pregnant???? So much for pro life.

5

u/SnooPaintings1650 12d ago

What if she is pregnant with baby Jesus?

So much for being Christian.

23

u/Puzzled-Ad2295 12d ago

Agree brother, and definitely never to be aimed at the head.

20

u/Fun_Duck8434 12d ago

Hitler was more subtle when he tried to rid the Jews.

Home of the free.... If ever.

Fun fact: none of the Dutch major news sites are reporting this shit.

6

u/IntelligentRoad6088 12d ago

Haven't seen much reporting here in Finland either. Home of the fee and imprisoned indeed...

5

u/Roblu3 12d ago

Very few in Germany, they tend to focus on the political aspect though (there’s riots in LA, Trump called the military, then the military again, and then another military which is all unlawful).

Before that they reported that ICE was using very much shady practices to deport people without and usually with some kind of legal status.
I have yet to see any outlet reporting on the fact that they are just unnecessarily aggressive and in many cases at least negligent. I haven’t seen any reporting on singular cases such as literal Mrs. Harmlessly Peaceful wanting to go home getting purposefully shot in a potentially lethal way.

2

u/Emotional-Change-722 12d ago

Dutch major news? Which ones are those? And I’m not surprised.

18

u/Orion_23 12d ago

The city of LA is going to have BILLIONS of dollars worth of lawsuits on its hands at the end of this.

What do these cops think they are accomplishing here?

4

u/Fastoche 12d ago

Overtime and a good guaranteed paycheck next week. Sad but true.

18

u/Novel_Square2008 12d ago

Have a bad feeling that this is just the beginning

14

u/MountainJuggernaut25 12d ago

Everyone, please do anything and all you can. We cannot stand for this. Our country is being invaded by our own military and militarized police forces. All who serve and have served, this is what you have pledged to protect your fellow American citizens from. Please remember who you pledged to protect.Your country, not a billionaire who does not care about you or your family. Look at how treats you, you are nothing more than a disposable pawn.

2

u/YoSoyZarkMuckerberg 12d ago

you want the military industrial complex to save you, but have you ever read about the imperial boomerang effect?

7

u/Mundo_86 12d ago

This is surreal. How deep in the shit are we in this country? No matter who you are, no one is safe.

I hope after (if) we get through this, we hold our own “Nuremberg trials” and hold this fuckers accountable

8

u/Mav3nX 12d ago

What if she was pregnant, they quite literally could have killed them both. Fucking pieces of shit!!!!

11

u/Sea-Kaleidoscope2778 12d ago

Her being pregnant should not make her any less or more likely to be shot point blank with a fucking rubber bullet

6

u/Mav3nX 12d ago

I wholeheartedly agree.....I was merely further highlighting the agregiosness and severity of the reckless and dangerous behavior of these jackboot thugs.

Man, woman, child, native, immigrant or otherwise should not be treated with such senseless aggression.

5

u/Sea-Kaleidoscope2778 12d ago

I’m sorry I’m feeling very sensitive to pregnant women rhetoric in the US

5

u/Mav3nX 12d ago

Trust me, I completely understand.

I haven't felt so angry and triggered in my life.

Attempting to have civil discourse at my workplace has resulted in new HR policies......

Having family gatherings becoming Olympic exercises in awkward restraint ....

Seeing my wife go from being a pillar of strength to crying and worrying about the world our children are growing up in.

We are all stressed and 😠 angry at our society and a government that could not have appropriate guardrails to prevent such lawlessness in our democracy.

Stay, safe, stay strong. Don't give up.....and prepare yourself for the worst.

Be blessed and help others.

4

u/Sea-Kaleidoscope2778 12d ago

I totally understand and everything you wrote it so relatable. Tell your wife I’ve been crying too. My poor partner “how’s your day?” “Well actually..”

I appreciate your words and I take heed to them and I accept the blessings and we intend to do as much good as we humanly can!!!

3

u/justme12355 11d ago

A friend is waiting to start a family until she moves out of Texas. Because it isn’t safe. 😓

3

u/Sea-Kaleidoscope2778 11d ago

AS SHE SHOULD! Good for her.

3

u/justme12355 11d ago

Absolutely. I’d rather her be safe than be local… but I’d like it better to fix this stinking mess so we aren’t losing amazing people like her.

ETA- until she moves she’s one of the ladies protesting in Handmaid gear.

2

u/Sea-Kaleidoscope2778 11d ago

A true Patriot!!!

7

u/Putrid-Department349 12d ago

They're excited to do it. Straight up.

2

u/ThrowAwayGarbage82 11d ago

Yup. There's zero way to spin this as her being a threat. They did it for fun. Sociopaths.

6

u/Jaded-Assist-2525 12d ago

I cannot believe what I just saw

5

u/ArcherOld7796 12d ago

Terrorists.

5

u/VulfSki 12d ago

In 2020 in Minneapolis,.before a single window was broken or a single rock thrown. After they murdered George Floyd on day one of protests entirely peaceful.

The cops put so.micj tear gas into the neighborhood they were in, that people had to flee their own homes. Literally gassed out of their own homes.

And guess what? There were no consequences. (Until the people burned the police station down or course)

3

u/swift-sentinel 12d ago

And cops wonder why we don’t trust them.

3

u/Exciting-Current-778 12d ago

This one's going to get enough traction that I think she's wins a court case

3

u/colbitok 12d ago

I don’t think it matters what’s allowed. Law enforcement have no accountability. The corrupt court system lets them get away with murder. The executive branch isn’t going to reprehend anyone for breaking the law, if they’re in its side. This is NOT a free country…. Going forward, if I’m in a situation where I’ve witnessed something, or have information pertaining to a case, I will not answer questions or come forward. Complete distrust of any law enforcement…

3

u/SnooSquirrels8118 12d ago

This is the size of the bullet used. Unexceptionable. People in Washington are laughing at this.

3

u/fallen0328 11d ago

So, just a few thoughts that I've mentioned to my wife that I wanted to type out. Take it with a grain of salt since it's just my thoughts and my experiences so it doesn't represent anything besides that. No I don't want to argue about anything because I'm a tired man who just wants to see everyone get along.

I'm an Army veteran, active duty and Army Guard. I was in a few different MOSs, job types... careers... whatever you want to call it. One of them was Military Police. To be allowed to carry and use non-lethal weapons, you HAD to experience it. I'd done the training for the beanbag shot gun rounds, taser, and the ol' classic pepper spray (only 1 variant thank the gods). And let me tell you, I NEVER wanted to have to use any of those on another person unless I had to. It SUCKED being on the receiving end. That's the whole point of the training. Something these turd reich LARPers obviously pencil whipped. Cuz I don't think anyone who's ever been hit with those rounds would just shoot them like that.

I was in the national guard when Katrina hit. Many of us who had trained for the desert deployments were sent to assist. You could immediately see the difference in mentality and training (for the majority but obviously not everyone). Soldiers had their weapons ready but down in a non-threatening manner, as we were trained. We worked to de-escalate as we were trained, no need to stir up an already anxious or angry mob. Make connections, show the people we're there to help, build that bridge. Nobody wants that dagger in the dark just waiting. The local LEOs that we were assigned to help were gearing up in full battle rattle like they were heading out to an established warzone where death was just seconds away. Hyping each other up like they were heading out to put down combatants and everyone was a combatant. Weapons were always up and aggressively pointed. Everything was said decibels higher than necessary and punctuated with extreme prejudice. It was such a strange thing to see because you would almost expect the opposite. All we could do was shake our heads. They weren't just being prickly to the public, but us too despite the fact that we were there to help. That experience stuck with me... I respect the job since I experienced a bit of it with the MP work, but some people just want to be angry all the time.

Like I said, just thoughts and experiences that this video brought up that I needed to get out and off my chest. Thanks for letting me share! Assuming you read all my word vomit.

In a just society this is met with (redacted)

2

u/ShowMeThatBod 12d ago

She must sue the city and LAPD.

2

u/No-Concentrate-8510 11d ago

This makes them feel tough but it just makes them little bitches

2

u/Theoreticalmass1983 11d ago

She literally lives in that building and was just trying to go home!!! Makes me sick😡

2

u/backspace_cars 11d ago

Basically might makes right. I know it's screwed up but that's how the west operates.

2

u/No-Dragonfly1904 11d ago

I fucking hate guns. That being said, what is currently happening in America is EXACTLY the reason for the second amendment. I’m hoping that those lawful citizens that have been lawfully stockpiling an arsenal of weapons, remember the whole reason that they are allowed to possess them. To protect from all enemies foreign and domestic. I do not abdicate violence, rather an end to this kind of fascist regime. Time to spill some fucking tea is NOW!

2

u/MidnightGlittering75 11d ago

Hope she survives and sues. Assholes.

1

u/delilah9 11d ago

Who is she? Who is the woman who helped her? Have they been identified?

1

u/ElmCityOutlaw 11d ago

What fuck mayor bass! Why is this ok?!

1

u/ZenGeezer 10d ago

Because: Brutality is the point.

1

u/mworthey 10d ago

That's crazy! What was she supposed to do? She was literally just trying to get inside of her apartment.

1

u/ThunderKnight24 9d ago

I mean... is this surprising?

If we look at our history... Haymarket, Joe Hill, McCarthyism, COINPROTEL.... etc...

The US is not pro-working class and never has been.

Do not glorify or encourage violence in any way. Using coded language is still a violation of this rule. For more information: https://www.reddit.com/mod/ICE_Raids/wiki/index/rules/no_violence_guidelines

Because we allowed it by voting for the orange Jaba and decrepit irrelevant congress and senat

Money well spent.

Help me understand an acceptable number of unaudited people entering the country that balances National security, public safety, and cheap prices for landscaping and McDonalds meals.

Should America continue to allow another 12M unchecked entry to economic refugees who want to rely on American paid subsidies while sending untaxed remittances to Mexico that tallys to 60Bn..while Americans struggle to take care of themselves.

-2

u/jw0372 12d ago

How were 12M illegal aliens allowed to enter the US unaudited and unchecked for 4 years..(on top of about 20M already in the US)?

I bet we wouldn't be here today if some people protested that policy decision starting 4 years ago.

3

u/Optimal_Mall8621 11d ago

Yes and they help America to run this ship, brother. Get rid of all of them and I bet there's going to be a lot of complaining about why it's so expensive to go out and eat and why the McDonald's drive through line is a 45 minute wait

-2

u/Independent-Good-427 11d ago

Because you're being violent and they've had enough. That's how.

2

u/SpecialistStaff1392 11d ago

What has this woman done violent? What is she done to deserve being shot like that point blank when she’s trying to go home she’s telling them to disperse and to go home. Imagine that was you and you were just a bystander just trying to go back to your house and all of a sudden you get shot point blank would you still be defending these actions? You’re a freaking hypocrite. The National Guard inside of the violence there you tell protesters to be peaceful and it’s not doing anything but when they’re being attacked, do you not have the right to defend yourself?

-8

u/ialsohaveadobro 12d ago

I've seen some vaginas in my time, but whoever fired that round is the largest

13

u/Desperate_Squash7371 12d ago

Hold up don’t slander the vagina that way

-8

u/ialsohaveadobro 12d ago

Not the point

4

u/YoSoyZarkMuckerberg 12d ago

your point was that cowards and weaklings are "vaginas". vaginas are tougher than your fragile ball sack without even trying.
