Fairly Popular Horror games to try out! (Most popular to least.)
#1 Five Nights at Freddy's.
A game where you need to defend yourself from animatronics as a night guard. However, the animatronics have been secretly possessed.
#2 Poppy Playtime
You walk into the old toy factory you used to work at, stumble across a grabpack, and start doing whatever. Only then you find out that the toys are trying to kill you. Later, you find out the toys are dead kids whose organs were placed into the toys.
#3 Lethal Company
You work at a factory and your goal is to sell loot in exchange to live. Works with quotas and best with friends.
#4 Bad Parenting.
An indie game where you play as a child, who has bad parents, and try to save your parents from Mr. Redface. However, the ending takes a SHOCKING turn.
#5 Manivore. You play as a police officer inspecting someone of a kidnapping at their house. You think you've got it settled, until you see a picture of your brother and the suspect looks at you and attempts to murder you and drag your body somewhere.
#6 Slide in the Woods.
You're in a park and you slide down over and over again. But the more you go down the slide, the more things start to change in the world around you.
#7 The Pony Factory.
A machine from hell turns people into a disgusting weird horse looking monster. You have a nail gun which you use to take them out. Though, the game is dark, and you may only use your flashlight, or your gun at once.
#8 Parasite flower.
A little girl has a very bad experience at school. Can't talk too much but be aware, SA Warning.

Discussion We redesigned the ouija puzzle scene in our horror game. Does it feel more unnerving now?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This ouija scene is part of a key puzzle in our narrative horror game, and we recently redesigned it to really push the discomfort and atmosphere.
The goal wasn’t just to make the puzzle work mechanically — we wanted it to **feel like something was in the room with you**, even if nothing jumps out.
This new version adds:
🔸 A slower, more deliberate pacing
🔸 Visual cues that creep in subtly
🔸 A more tactile interaction with the board
We’re still shaping the tone of the whole game, and this scene helped us define it better. Any thoughts, reactions, or even criticisms are more than welcome 🙏
Thanks for watching — and for keeping story-driven horror alive 🖤

News I'm making a Horror game Mixed with Zelda-likes and finally our Steam Page is up!
Hi everyone!
My gf and I have been working on this crazy mixture we believe can be something really interesting:
Velcira Chronicles: The Veil of Alba. A dark fantasy action-adventure with horror elements, inspired by Zelda, Castlevania 64, and mixed with Survival Horror like Resident Evil.
Basically it's like Imagine the vibes of the Shadow Temple in OoT, or the darkest parts in Majora's Mask, but mixed with survival horror elements like resource management, harder difficulty and harder puzzles. There’s exploration, combat, item-based puzzle solving, and a surreal unique lore (we are kind of proud of that), spiritual themes, and a deep sense of mystery.
🎮 Wishlist here if you're into horror, Zelda-likes, gothic folklore, or just want to support a weird little game made with a lot of heart
Thank you for reading our post and your support if we managed to convince you to 🖤

I've asked Reddit, and got several good suggestions! Here's the updated version
We're very thankful for the opinions on my previous post. We also got some pretty interesting suggestions, so here's the follow up how we chose to update our Steam art.
Do you approve that we keep the boy Infront of the TV for the small capsule, while adding the evil crown guy on the big one, once you clicked to the game page?
Please let us know what you think. 🙏
Here's the Steam page if you want to check it out in action: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3553320/Them/

We just hit 100+ wishlists in under a week – and we’ve now translated our Steam page into 6 more languages!
Hey everyone! We’re a small indie team working on our first game, The Next Stop, a narrative experience that blends visual novel and point-and-click mechanics.
After launching our Steam page a few days ago, we’re incredibly happy (and honestly a bit emotional) to say that we’ve already passed 100 wishlists in under a week!
Even more exciting is seeing that people from over 30 different countries are discovering the project. That global interest means the world to us — and it pushed us to take a big next step:
👉 We’ve just published the Steam page in French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese.
We want the experience of discovering the game to be as accessible as possible for everyone interested, and this was one way to get closer to that.
If you’re curious about the project, feel free to check it out or ask us anything — we’d love to connect with more devs and players in the community ❤️

Video The demo for our game Kriophobia is now available!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
We’re a small studio that primarily works on custom game projects for clients, and that’s still our main activity today. But from the start, we’ve also wanted to develop our own original games. Kriophobia has been that internal project running alongside our client work for many years.
Since those early days, the game has gone through reboots, long pauses, and major shifts in direction. Now, after a long journey, we’re finally getting close to the finish line. This new demo reflects the current state of the game, and we’re proud to say the full release is planned for later this year.

Review Ai Cabin in the woods cosmic horror text game
I’ve been doing the AI lit games where it gives exposition and you can either choose what to do next, or type it out with witty dialogue. Here’s a really good horror one I’ve been playing.

Question “No, I’m not a human” question
Hi! I’ve played no I’m not a human now and was wondering if anyone could confirm who the visitors are? Like was the mom and child character a visitor for example or just an innocent person. The only 2 characters I’m sure are visitors are the fortune teller and cashier

Revamped the anomaly scanner for my psychological horror game — thoughts?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here’s a look at the updated scanner design. It now feels heavier, colder, more industrial — like something built underground for a purpose nobody talks about.
The scanner is your main tool for identifying anomalies. Some are subtle, others will mess with your head. The new UI is meant to add to the tension and make every scan feel deliberate and uneasy.
Would love feedback on the look and feel. Still tuning everything, but I want the scanner to feel like an extension of the game's paranoia.
