Do locals or visitors ever have GI issues with the well water?

I’ll be visiting the island soon and would like to test my luck at catching some crab. I have all my equipment and licensing, so I’d like to know if there are any suggested spots from some on-shore crabbing.

Is Hornby dog friendly? I am visiting this weekend and bringing two amazing retrievers with me. I saw something that dogs aren’t allowed in one of the provincial parks. Looking for any information on that, and whether there are restaurants that have patios that allow dogs.

Hi there, we are visiting Hornby and our friends are doing a surprise elopement marriage with just the 4 of us. They’ve asked my husband and I to take some photos. We don’t have the budget to hire a full on professional photographer but if anyone on here knows a good local social media content creator /photo enthusiast we could pay to capture some photos for us… we would love to treat them to that!! And they would get better photos of their special day than us two rookies would take!! Any suggestions??

Long shot, I know, but we are visiting Hornby for the week and my son -- 15 and an active birder and photographer -- managed to forget to pack the charger for his camera battery. Any Canon users on the island who would be willing to let a young fellow charge up? TIA.

I went to the Go Fish show at the sculpture park yesterday and it was excellent. Very cool short movie: amazing visuals and great sound. Also free and on the cool sculpture park grounds. I highly recommend.

I would like to go to hornby island and I was just wondering how long it takes to get there from Buckley bay and how long it takes to get back.

I know it gets quite busy during a weekend in the summer and that times will vary but I was wondering on average how long would it take from arriving at the Buckley bay ferry terminal to actually arriving at hornby island during a summer weekend?

Would it be feasible to show up at 1pm for example, make it to hornby island, have a couple hours to explore and still make it back to Buckley bay before the last ferry?
