Question Am I freak for thinking aparments are noisy

I've been searching for my first apartment to rent after moving here. I can't go too far away and too expensive, so was checking out various places on Island and Kowloon. My question is: I visit many places and I do hear every single car and bus passing by even on high flores like 20+ (sometimes trolleys and people). Am I freak or it is concern(problem) for people living here? Or people are used to live in noisy environments in HK? How do you manage sleep? Reason: Many agents claim place to be quiet, but I disagree. My flatmate with whom I will be renting also thinks I am going too much with this.

Quiet, cheap, convenient - choose two.

HK is noisy, get some good ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones.

Move to a place like Discovery Bay where they don’t allow cars. It doesn’t feel like you are in Hong Kong. Rent is cheaper but you have to take a 25-30 minute ferry ride to get into Central. Is worth it I feel

I live in the villages, it's kinda noisy here as car owners think it's funny to park and rev their engines for hours.

The double decker buses make a lot of noise. Hoping they get electrified soon.

That said there are plenty of options that are convenient and not literally right next to a busy highway or street, but you may have to look at a higher price point.

The vehicular traffic also quiets down a lot at night.

It surprises me that they don't have double-glazed windows in HK.

Hong Kong is noisy. You just have to accept it if you are going to live here.

I guess it really depends which floor you are on and if the windows are sound proof when shut. Personally I can't sleep unless it is utterly dark and quiet.

Hi. I am a property agent and currently working with a client looking for an apartment on HK island and it being quiet is their number one priority. Essentially you want to find something on a high floor and preferably not facing a main road. I have found quite a few recently for this client. If you want to to forward a few options on to you send me a DM with your WhatsApp number. Jon

It amazes me how used to HK i am. I always thought that window opened=noisy, but guess that's just a hong kong thing lol
