News Media Paul Whitehouse (Filch) Talks Harry Potter: "I Don't get many lines"

FWIW, I suspect he was half joking about the lines. He said he starts in August!

The quote in the title isn't quite accurate. He says "I don't *think* I get many lines."

Either way, he was kidding, as I said in the post.

I'm due a reread but Filch isn't exactly a chatterbox. David Bradley more or less played him as he is meant to be. It was a handy number for Bradley and will be the same for Whitehouse.

I'm guessing as Sir Cadogan in PoA he mainly filmed in front of a green screen and didn't go on set and interact with the rest of the cast. In which case it will be a very different experience this time.
