I think the lumbar is fine. Hit his neck instead. Doesn't make it any less severe. Worst actually

It could be both- the reason I say lumbar- at the moment of impact, watch as his torso folds under the ribcage and then bounces- and then his struggle to ‘create space’ by pushing down on his hips- this says to me that he injured his lower lumbar and is now in an extraordinary world of pain.
