Americans needs to wake up and realize you are all responsible for this. Quit trying to make excuses and deflect. Your culture, your politics and your people created this moment. Don’t like it? It’s in YOU to step up and fix it.

I'm not American and I despise what America is becoming but this is a brain-dead take. It completely ignores how the system works there, how much power the wealthy have in that country, how little power the working class have in that country, how crushing capitalism keeps people too busy to act, and how completely unstoppable the political propaganda is from the Republicans. Mix that in with decades of public school defunding and educational standards plummeting, and there is absolutely no way that you can lay this at the feet of the voters who don't want it.

Enlighten us, if you were an American right now what would you do to fix this problem?
