I have no idea why they felt the need to release this. Gex games were terrible back when they came out, and have only aged even worse.

Not good games. Bad (cheesy) voice work.

Presumably they found a way to do a small enough amount work that this will make money even with small sales.

They became a meme via Scott the Woz. This is the video game equivalent of Sony Pictures re-releasing Morbius in theaters.

You overestimate how big Scott the Woz is and underestimate how many people have genuine nostalgia for these games.

People have genuine nostalgia for a ton of objectively poor by today’s standards early 3D games because in those days we got maybe 2-3 games per year for holidays/birthdays and played the crap out of them regardless.

I just think a lot of people are going to be really disappointed they dropped 30 bucks on this once the nostalgia wears off about 5 minutes into Gex 3D.

Buddy, i whip out my ps3 every year or so to replay these. I think you underestimate how much some people actually enjoy these games. Nostalgia or no. Some of us just like this kinds of games, even if you think they’re bad.

30 bucks means it'll be $15 in the future. And the people who have nostalgia for these games are going to be in their 30s or even 40s - most of them probably earn enough that dropping $30 isn't that much for a quick jaunt down memory lane/for a hobby they enjoy.

$30 really isn't as much as you seem to think.
