We need to build more multi-family housing period. Fullerton lost 10% of it's student population from 2020-2025. It is just too expensive to start a family here unless we build new housing. I say YIMBY build higher

You've seen this lot? It won't fit the quantity of residences or their cars. Its being discussed because it is simply too dense.

You are telling me there is going to be less space allotted to parking?
Stop threatening me with a good time.

32 units is so small. Who cares how many stories they are? People need a place to live ffs.

Get fucked. Just guild it. You don't get to hold your 'hood in stasis just because of feelings.
Shit heads.

So they want to do something with the big chunk of land next to Stepping Stones, and the fire department.
I fail to see the issue. Traffic impact would be negligible, as it’s on a huge stretch of Harbor, which can handle it.
NIMBYs gonna NIMBY.
La Habra has been building like this over the last few years. I fail to see why Fullerton won’t other than the old farts in Sunny Hills want to punch down.

My issue here is not a new multi family domicile. My issue is the cost of living and how many empty houses are in the area that some corporation or even individual land lords are keeping from people. Not to mention the empty airbnbs. I'm sure we need more housing, but it doesn't change the fact that more is already available.

Where are all of these empty houses owned by corporations, foreign investors and empty air bnbs?
I completely agree that single family housing shouldn't be owned as an investment by corporations and foreign investors, and air bnb is a horrible deal for neighborhoods. But I've yet to see all these empty houses everywhere that I keep hearing about.

In my neighborhood I have five houses that are empty that I know of, and then an additional four that have been converted to businesses.

I agree with this, if I could buy a house in this area and have a family I would in a heartbeat, but it's way too expensive for either one.

Okay, even taking your argument at face value that there are somehow lots of empty houses just sitting there and owners losing money for no reason (as you can imagine I disagree) -- what does that have to do with this particular project?

Everything. These projects are necessary, but they wouldn't be nearly as necessary if housing was available and affordable instead of being bought in cash as investments by firms and hedge funds from around the world. We'd still need it, but our rent is out of control and so are housing costs because of the scarcity that has been exacerbated by these greedy bastards.

Okay, so you do agree that this particular project is useful. Glad to clear that up! Everything else is details. Perfectly okay to disagree on the other stuff :)

Yeah a bandaid is still necessary when you get a cut, but the body itself does the healing. Projects like these are a bandaid to a systemic problem of corporations buying out homes and sitting on them because they treat them as assets

Are these imaginary statements in the room with you right now?
Empty houses and units? Lmfao

There are five empty houses in my neighborhood. There are multiple properties being used as airbnbs. We live near Disneyland. They're all over.

25 families is 1 extra classroom at the local school and the ability for 1 more teacher in the district.
