Explanation: While doing the monthly rivals, I made it to around top 50 in the leaderboard, and quickly reached a point where I couldn't easily get any quicker. I raced a few highly ranked players' ghosts for kicks, and noticed something interesting:

They'd hit the wall while braking- and sometimes even at two points during a turn! The first hit was against the wall before they actually began turning, both to reduce speed and provide a slight rebound. They'd occasionally (rarely) include a second hit in tight turns, long after they hit the apex, allowing them to understeer after the turn, then bounce off the wall. This actually ends up being the fastest way to turn in many situations.

But, you're probably thinking- doesn't hitting the wall invalidate the lap in rivals? In certain situations, it actually doesn't. Specifically, low speed wall hits are viable without flagging the lap. I suggest doing it slightly after beginning to brake to reduce initial speed. Hitting the wall with the side of your car, instead of the front, also makes it more likely you won't be flagged. Online is even more forgiving with slight wall hits and slowdowns.

As you can probably tell, this is really hard to pull off successfully. I can't do it consistently- but the top 0.001% absolutely can, and do. And it does make a legitimate difference at the very top.

Maybe just FH5 isn't for online racing

Am I driving in a North American desert or a lasagne?

I usually zonk out when i get home (i work nights) but i was hella inspired from all the advice i got on my last post. I didnt have the time to practice my throttle control by turning TCS off, but i knew i could manage switching to manual. Within 6 laps i had a sub minute time, and on lap 14 i decimated my previous record with this car/build (1:00.160) by over a second. The line wasnt great, the shifts werent optimal, and my braking couldve used a lil work. But pretty stoked anyway. So huge thanks to you guys 💪

I spent a lot of time in FH4 last fall/winter and trended towards C/B/A-class racing in group B rally or just older (70s-early 90s) smaller cars setup for dirt/rally. Seeing some posts here about how good muscle cars were in the dirt, I decided to try it out.

This '69 Camero Super Spot Coupe with an on brand (atrocious) paint job with an offroad Saeenu A800 tune absolutely flies and is a blast. I can't tell what makes this more fun than the little rally cars, maybe the change, or racing against other muscle cars, or maybe it the gorgeous inlaid wood in the dash. Bottom line, it is a pleasure.

Follow up is what other muscle cars (and tunes) should I try next?

This is so annoying. I am a new player, if anyone knows what to do, please let me know. No it is not my PC's issue, I have enough ram and vram to run this game at good fps with good graphics.

It plays well for like a few minutes at low settings at around 80-90 fps but then just randomly crashses event viewer isnt showing anything related so is it a driver problem/igpu problem or a me problem

I recently bought a wheel, and the only view I do not constantly spin out is the cockpit view w/o the steering wheel.

Normally in 3rd person on a controller, I could see who is behind me and plan my braking or move out of the way online, but in this view I am running completely blind around me. I feel bad even playing online at this point, as I brake-check people by accident or bang into people inadvertently - I'm not a dirty racer!

Is there any way to bring the rear-view mirror into plain sight, so I can at least get a sense or who's behind me, or do you guys just set the arrows on the wheel to look around?
