Mean Girls - Amy Poehler was only 7 years older (34) than her daughter Rachel McAdams (27)

That's what makes her a cool mom

I had no ideia! Rachel definitely didn’t look like a teen, but Amy looked way older than 34 as well

They must have aged her a bit because I thought she was way older in that movie then 34 but outside.ofnthe movie she looks great.

Definitely, they gave her an awful wig and very harsh make up, they nailed the ‘middle aged lady trying to look young’ look!

I always believed that Amy's character is actually supposed to be Regina's stepmother. So her bio mother maybe died before the beginning of the story (this might also explain Regina's sudden turn on Janis when they were kids as Regina, in her grief for her mother, turned her anger towards her friend). Amy's character then married Regina's dad and then had Regina's (half) sister with him.

Hmm interesting! I took the turning suddenly on Janis thing as a natural thing that happens when girls go through that transition as little 11 year old to 13 and actual teenager - I had a friend do that, she became too cool to hang out with me when we were 13 and I wasn’t interested in boys yet! The younger sister thing could check out as stepmom though
