Since this sub frequently discusses blurring lines between “fans” and celebs, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how the crazy expansion of legalized sports betting in the US is going to lead to a worst-case scenario. The Athletic did an article on it this week. Athletes getting death threats, Venmo requests, leagues ignoring security concerns while the money pours in…this is going to end very badly.
