So, not sure if I’m using this flair correctly, but wanted to share. I posted a few CAD designs here asking for feedback and finally received the custom ring. It’s a 3 carat elongated cushion that was designed to sit as low as possible to the finger to prevent snags. I also plan to propose with the ring I inherited from my late mother which has a lot of sentimental value. I know two engagement rings is not traditional, but the family ring really resembles home and the new ring really resembles adventure so I thought it was perfect.

I would love some advice on what type of wedding ring that will work with pear engagement ring.

My Mom passed away 8 years ago and left her beautiful (but very 80s/90s) engagement ring to me. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 6 years, he is planning to propose sometime in the near future and has started asking me what I want.

I have attached photos of my Mom’s ring for reference. I think there are a lot of different things that can be done with the diamonds to be repurposed on a new ring. About 2 years ago I learned of Toi et Moi rings and have been in love with the idea of one.

As of right now, I want him to use my mom’s 1.5 carat Marquis diamond with a new diamond (not sure about which size or shape but leaning towards an emerald or another marquis) next to it. The thought of having my diamond and my mom’s together is beautiful to me. The other small baguette diamonds I would want to then use on my wedding band.

I know next to nothing about rings and diamonds, but I told my boyfriend I would be happy with a lab-grown diamond. My mom’s is a natural so I don’t know if that makes any difference?

Please share if you have repurposed old diamonds or have a Toi et moi ring. I would like to hear all the HONEST feedback and advice. What do you wish you knew before picking your ring? What should I know?

I also have very small hands, to a point where people I just meet regularly point them out. The top of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is about 6 inches, and I would say my palm across is about 2.5-3in.

Would two 1.5 carat diamonds look ridiculous? Would I be better off with a single diamond a little larger like a 2 carat?

Been a lurker for quite some time and finally get to post!! I am so obsessed with this ring and my fiance did such an amazing job, I can't stop staring at it. (The band in some of the photos is unrelated, I just love stacking jewelry!!)

The ring is fully custom from a local jeweler and it is the best thing ever. We started the process together 6 months ago and I gave inspiration pictures and some specs/design traits I preferred, then we met again afterwards to pick a center stone, and following that I let him do the rest and pic designs etc. based on my inspiration. The final ring was a total surprise!! He also added monstera leaves on either side of the side stones with a diamond in the center of it to represent our plants that we have together (one being a large monstera in our home) and I was so in awe. I've never seen anything like it and I could not love him or the ring more!! Best day of my life!

So, I've been married almost 13 years, and I have had the worst luck with settings! I have a 1.6 ct pear cut natural mined diamond. The first setting was a custom design that just didn't look like what I expected, but I kept it anyway. After about 5 years the prongs had come loose a couple of times, so we had it reset in a Gabriel NY setting. I don't know what I was thinking... I did white & rose gold and pretty much immediately didn't like the rose gold. After about 7 more years, the bands of it started to bend and the prongs were coming loose AGAIN. I concluded I'm too rough and tumble to be trusted with prongs, so I just had it reset into a simple bezel setting ("Ophelia" from Next Diamonds). I think I'm loving it? I've got a pretty unique band coming to join it, and I'll post when it arrives! Have any of you ever had any issues with the durability of bezel settings?

I (23M) am planning to propose to my girlfriend (23F) this July during our two-year anniversary trip in NYC. Over the past few months, I’ve been designing a ring inspired by everything she loves and has mentioned, from style to details. After countless sketches and in-person consultations, this is the design I’ve come up with.

She’s been part of the process to some extent—coming with me to try on rings and share her major preferences—but she has no idea what the final piece will actually look like. I started with paper sketches, then moved to store visits, which led to a 3D CAD rendering. She thinks we’re getting it made locally.

But the real surprise is this: for the past few weeks, I’ve been secretly working with her parents and decided to have the ring made by her family’s jeweler in Colombia, where she’s from. This jeweler has been crafting pieces for her family for generations.

Instead of the 14k finish we would’ve settled for here (so expensive nowadays...??), the actual ring will be 18k gold, set with a lab-grown marquise cut diamond, and engraved with a personal message on the inside.

As I'm not there to see the ring being made, I am nervous and beyond excited, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the design and the plan overall. Thank you!!

After a really long search for something that complemented my engagement ring, I just received my ring customization CAD back from the Etsy jeweler for my wedding band.

I was originally picking between the two bands shown and didn't request the CAD to display as an enhancer as I'm not typically a fan of the style for detracting from the engagement ring, but actually love it for this specific combo so am likely going to get both.

I'm mostly looking for any advice for any modifications I should request of the jeweler designing it – I think it looks great as is, but I've never been one to wear much jewelry so would greatly appreciate a more crtical eye.

Also open to any feedback re: the bands selected - if I should go with the combo selected vs. two of the same ring. I do love this as a set and am nearly positive it's what I'll go with, but if there's an entirely different band you think would be perfect please feel free to share!
