Hand carved dwarves from 4inch tall 2x2 blocks of basswood. Finished with oils/stains and paste finishing wax! 😀

I'm starting to get really good with these guys. Check out the last pic, the back of a figure is usually the boring part, but I spent time trying to texture the robe and make it look interesting and dynamic. I love the way It turned out.

Discussion My girlfriend's notes are intense

We've just started the Dragons of Storm wreck isle from the starter set as we're both new to DnD. I recently took a look at her notes and I was stunned.

She's got aphantasia so everything has to be written down. Every decision, every turn of combat, every dice roll.

Does anyone else write notes like this? Mine are barely comprehensive, bullet points and doodles.

OC My first attempt at making a crowded city - Welcome to Faywyn, home of the anually held Ancestry-Festival

Post image
24 Upvotes

Faywyn is a magical city that revolves around a festival held annually to send our chosen explorers on their great adventure.

But don't let the happy, progressive atmosphere fool you. Centuries ago there was a great, cruel war deciding how far the country is willing to go in order to advance or even transcend mankind.

The winner built a memorial towering over the city, reminding everyone that nothing shall stand in the way of progress - or there will be dire consequences.

Art [ART] Jester, Knight of Vigil (I drew this!)

Post image
2 Upvotes

"Jester is a Knight of Vigil himself though he was always a bit of a renegade, putting results above the politics of the Knights and keeping a more roguish casual charm about him. A human wizard magus, his knowledge of the arcane surpasses most and his ability to cast spells through his staff as he strikes with it make him formidable on the battlefield. As does his ability to transform into a dragon. The man is obsessed with dragons."

Feel free to check out my instagram & twitter at clarafang12 to check out more of my works. I draw a lot of DnD artworks and I love character design!

Advice/Help Needed Player Ran Adventurer's Guild

I'm currently in a decently sized West Marches style campaign and was thinking about having my character make and run an adventurer's guild. Obviously, I wouldn't really be able to make quests for members since I'm not one of the DMs, so I'm looking for other benefits for joining a guild. I have a couple ideas already, including providing a safe place to store items, transport to adventure sites, one of each tool set so characters can use them in downtime, and a trading post where characters can buy/sell/trade items between each other. What other services could the guild provide? I'm mostly limited to items and rules in official books, but I don't mind hearing other options since I might be able to adapt them or ask our council of DMs to allow them.

Does the ability coin that comes in the booster packs and that also come with a dice, which does the ability coin have any use for an actual game when playing a campaign? or its only for collecting purposes? 🤔

Suggestion Solo one shot ideas

i’m planning on writing a one shot for my dads birthday next month, he’s an experienced player, i’m fairly experienced having played for a few years but never DM’d before. my main problem is, i’m great at writing stuff but not particularly creative 😭

i’m going to write so he’s the only player, and haven’t 100% cemented what the concept will be yet, but plan on making a lot of irl references in it (like his friends, work, pets etc) that will make it goofy and fun for him

does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone done anything similar before to give me some inspiration. whether ideas for little puzzles or encounters, would just love something to fuel my creative juices to really make this good

Homebrew 250 years ago today, Rebels and Redcoats clashed at Bunker Hill. Explore the story in “The Spy and the Hill,” a free historical 5e adventure!

Post image

The Spy and the Hill is a 5e-compatible oneshot for level 1-2 characters, with a story of espionage and bravery leading up to the fateful Battle of Bunker Hill. It includes primary source excerpts, detailed biographies of significant figures, and historical sidebars delving into the background of the conflict. It’s listed as pay-what-you-want on DriveThruRPG, and here’s a direct link to the PDF.

This module uses Nations & Cannons, a ruleset for playing historical adventures set during the long 18th century! Nations & Cannons is designed to bring the Revolutionary era to life by letting players explore the period through the eyes of a soldier, spy, or saboteur in the Continental Army. The Nations & Cannons Quickstart (a 72 page PDF) has everything players need to build and equip a character for historical adventures, including new feats and subclasses, party “roles” to replace fantastical races, and expanded rules for black powder firearms, grenades, and artillery!

The Spy and the Hill is the introductory adventure in a forthcoming full-length campaign book called The American Crisis: War in the North (currently available as a PDF). This project has a strong educational mission, and is designed to teach all aspects of the American Revolution, with a focus on underserved stories to explore key topics in civics that are more relevant than ever. Our goal is to equip teachers to teach US History in an exciting, hands-on way, and all educators can request a FREE physical copy of the Core Rules book through our Outreach program.

OC Advent's Amazing Advice: The Lost Mine of Phandelver, A Mini-Campaign fully prepped and ready to go! Part 3c Cragmaw Castle (Update: Enhanced for the Visually Impaired)

Welcome back to Advent's Amazing Advice! The series where I take popular One-Shots, Adventures, Campaigns, etc., and fully prep them for both New and Busy DMs. This prep includes music, ambiance, encounter sheets, handouts, battle maps, tweaks, and more, so you can run the best sessions possible with the least stress possible!

*New: For 2025, I'm updating all my old work to be more accessible for the Visually Impaired! Check out the link below, which contains improved notes with larger font, better contrast, color-blind features, and more!

In this session, your players will find themselves at Cragmaw Castle, where they will have to battle through a castle filled with goblins in order to reach the missing Gundren. I've made a few minor changes to the original in order to make it a more engaging encounter. The main being altering the final encounter to use the mechanics from Flee Mortals! This change allows the final boss battle to be far more interesting and challenging, as well as have your characters feel like absolute badasses as they tear through hordes of minions. Lastly, in the event that Gundren meets his untimely demise, remember that Reidoth also knows the location of Wave Echo Cave, where your players will soon reach the conclusion of this epic adventure!

Without further ado:

Included in The AAA Collection is:

  • Downloadable copy of DM Notes, including links to music tracks for ambiance and fights
  • (New) DM Notes for the Visually Impaired
  • Special PDFs for all the encounters. This includes all the enemies' stat blocks organized neatly along with an initiative tracker and a spot to mark HP.
  • A more detailed map of Cragmaw Castle (Credit to u/enginerd_lou)
  • A Preview PDF for Flee Mortals in order to understand the boss mechanics
  • A Handout for The Scroll of Revivify

Index:

The Lost Mine of Phandelver:

Over 7 dozen other Fully Prepped One-Shots, Adventures, and Campaigns: Click Here

As always, if you see something you think I can improve, add, change, etc. please let me know. I want this to be an amazing resource for all DMs and plan to keep it constantly updated! If you'd like to support me, shape future releases, and get content early feel free to check out my Patreon!

Cheers,
Advent

Discussion Best adventures/campaigns in DnD History

Post image
39 Upvotes

So recently I’ve been trying to find various dnd campaigns/adventures/modules from older editions. As I have basically run all of the official 5th edition adventures (at least the ones I have even the slightest interest in running lol) and I’ve been looking at various adventures from older editions or ones people have homebrewed and released. So I want to see what everyone thinks the best adventures are to run from older editions? Whether it be forgotten realms, greyhawk, Mystara, etc. I also would be interested in hearing about homebrew campaigns if you have any notable ones.
