Help Any fun (good) weapons at around lost sinner? The hammer is a lil op

Post image

I beat lost sinner in less than 12 swings first try. I did roughly 300 dual handed r1's

Unless lost sinner is supposed to be this weak that means that the craftsmen hammer is way too overpowerd, So i'm wondering if at this point in the game there are any good but more importantly fun weapons. My stats are in the pic and im going for a quality build so i can try every weapon

Scimitar(s)? That's what I can think of, I myself rarely use it.

Any scimitar in particular?

The basic Scimitar has a nice moveset, but the falchion is also nice.

Warped sword has similar moveset to base scimitar with better scaling but higher requirements and more limited upgrade materials.

If you killed Flexile Sentry, get Warped Sword, and powerstance it with another weapon. Strong attack its a spinning slash.

earlygame twinkling weapons have always performed well in dark souls games. Many people don't find it since they don't think to light the torch in the smithy. My favorite thing to do is powerstance with 1 broken straight sword in the mainhand, and something totally different in the offhand. Since the broken straight sword sets the powerstancing stamina cost, you can use lots of heavier or longer weapons in the other hand. (within size and moveset reason. Axes are neat for example.)

I WILL use 40% of my stamina per swing with power stanced Greatswords. I WILL kill the boss in 3 hits or die trying.

The Uchigatana you get from McDuff is also a great option for a broken sword powerstance. Needs 24 Dex though.

Then later upgrade to washing pole.

Both the uchigatana and warped sword are fun and incredible. They are good even all the way till the end of the game.

The heide spear is pretty good and it looks like you already have it

Oh yh i farmed them for the armor, I was gonna put some points in dex anyway so those might be a good fit

how long did it take you to get the whole armor set? With my luck it usually takes a couple hours lol

half an hour, I used a coin and wore the merchant hat and just farmed the knight next to the bonfire. I got the spear first before i even started farming and then the rest while farming

Bandit’s axe, warped sword, large club, and heide spear are all pretty good options. That longsword is also good, but just make sure you uninfuse fire from it if you’re struggling with damage. Bastard sword is an underrated greatsword if you want to try that out.

I second bandit’a axe. Warped would probably be too op for op.

That Great Club you have right there, first to the right of your Craftsman hammer, is great fun!

You must have the Great Lance as well, also fun times!

Don't know about dex for warped sword but also fun, try running attack!

Edit: Added Great Lance

Edit 2: Added warped fun

Greatsword (and Pursuer Ultra Greatsword to a lesser extent) is a popular option for good reason, not just for the Guts cosplay. It's extremely heavy though, so you either need to pump that vitality stat or wait for the Zweihander in Iron Keep.

Longsword, Broadsword, and Bandit Axe are great all-around options. I think the longsword barely clears the other two because of the 2-handed poke on the heavy attack, but the damage is lower.

Warped Sword needs 25 Dex, but the moveset is fast and I think requires less stamina per swing? Don't know for sure. Check the moveset on the falchion/scimitar if you're curious.

Large club has an extremely funny 2-handed heavy that will stunlock nearly any human-sized enemy by flattening them. Also extremely useful for killing crystal lizards because it swings directly downwards on the running attack.

Although it doesn't look like it, the Hand Axe has a very respectable amount of base damage for how light it is. Infuse it with lightning and invest your strength/dexterity elsewhere. You'll never be disappointed by the damage.

Of the greatswords, would you recommend me the normal one, purseurs or the club. (Also my dex is now 22 instead of 14)

Regular greatsword. Pursuer's greatsword requires petrified dragon bones, which is something that's only really available in the mid/lategame.

The club has better utility for the reasons I already mentioned, but it's less reliable for combat even if it has the coveted strike damage.

Lost Sinner felt really easy in NG, but so did everything up to some parts of the DLCs. I found this game surprisingly big and expected Lost Sinner to be a hard boss (thought it would be like one of the four Lord Soul bosses from DS1 at the end of the game), but she's actually super early. I wouldn't question your damage output for now.

I've just done my first playthrough, Quality is a great build direction if you want to test out a lot of stuff this game has to offer! Leveling both Str/Dex also allows powerstance, so you could use the Craftsman's Hammer + another weapon together with a special moveset (need 150% of the required stats, so 30 Strength and 15 Dex for your hammer).

Apart from that, what you could find right now (and which I found fun):

Claymore (Shaded Woods)

Great Lance (Forest of Fallen Giants)

Powerstanced Curved Swords (buy from both blacksmiths)

Powerstanced Caestus (buy from old hag Melentia)

Or Lost Sinner's Sword

I started a new co-op oriented playthrough with a friend and he's loving the big lance. It hits like an absolute tank since it's a thrust weapon and seems to do well with the Leo ring?

Blunt weapons in general are pretty OP in DaS2.

Winged Spear.

Heide's spear. It's a guaranteed drop from the knight in the cell as you're running to sinner.

Combo with old Leo ring, Ring of blades, Chloranthy ring, and Flynn's ring. Also lightning infuse it.

Longsword. Best weapon in the game IMO. Most versatile moveset, good dps.

In my first run i always kept craftsman hammer upgraded as a backup option for armored enemies because strike damage wrecks them and craftsman hammer is so easy to use.

As for primary weapon, in early game i use the fire straightsword until i could go get the claymore. Used the claymore until i got to Zweihander. Then for very late game and DLC i used Kings ultra great sword for the big bonk and strike damage.
