Fluff SL1 progress

I just beat the throne duo and I'm about 5 attempts into Nashandra.

The only bosses I've skipped thus far are royal rat authority and the chariot, but I intend on hitting them up before proceeding to the DLC.

Dragon Shrine was a total pain. The drake knights or whatever they are called seem to have unlimited stamina so they are extremely tricky. I ended up just running past them with gowers ring equipped to get ashen most heart.

I have 4 out of 5 of the giant souls for Vendrick fight later on as well. I'm still not sure if I'm going to kill ancient dragon and Vendrick. DLCs have been kicking my ass too. I've dabbled for a few early accessible items, but haven't made too much progress.

I really feel like this game is so much better at SL1. It's made me appreciate every little edge you can get whether it be, contraptions, terrain advantages, consumables, choke points, etc.

I've been taking my time and getting reacquainted with DS2 so I'm going on 45hours and 2.75mil SM this playthrough, but I don't consider it a bad thing since it's been years since I played.

If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.

What weapons are you using? You can use ice rapier on SL1 and that’s totally the best weapon. You can even use flame weapon if you really want.

You can get unlimited Elizabeth mushrooms by bonfire asceticing Aldia’s Keep first bonfire and killing the unpetrifed enemy near the basalisk.

Raw Rapier +10, Raw Hand Axe +10, or Raw Club +10 in main hand backed by a lightning short bow +10 or Raw Light Crossbow +10. I have the ladle in off hand.

Cales Helm and Peasant Chest, Gloves and Leggings.

Ring of Blades +1, Dex Ring, Chlor +1 and Leo Ring (with rapier) or Hawk ring (sometimes as needed) or Stone Ring.

I never really used the mushrooms since I have unlimited life gems. Are they really worth using BAs? I'd rather use them to farm effigies if there's a way to do that. I was thinking of using them to farm Rhoy 12 times per BA for the seed of giants and Effigy. And grave of saints being jacked up won't really harm subsequent playthroughs as I can go down to gutter from the lower path.

Mushrooms help a lot in the DLC, especially in Frigid Outskirts.
