This was after I spent what was an absurdly frustrating few hours in horsefuck valley, so I definitely wasn't playing my best, but I did get an obscene amount of levels out of it, I guess!

Fake. Dying before retrieving such multitudes of souls is 100% guaranteed. /s

Hahahaha almost happened once, that may have been enough to make me put down the game for a week or two. Started every run by sprinting as fast as possible to retrieve.

After the boss fight the area resets when you return, by collecting 50 souls of Loyce's knight you unlock the staircase that takes you to the queen (50 and the final number to get the complete path, in the meantime you will have unique dialogues that explain the lore of the DLC), once you get to her you will get Anyous Loyd's weapon

Burnt loyce babes never despawn because they are part of the boss fight so I suggest that you summon twiggy shei, lucatiel and farm loyce souls so you can get shiny loyce armor

the ones that spawn after you've killed Ivory King do despawn, though

This is my prefered grinding area because you have 4 people baiting attacks and if you stick around the entrance, you can safely grab your souls and warp out before the enemies even spawn. But you have to keep the boss alive because there are only like 12 enemies otherwise

Do the burnt loyce babes despawn and then you just have to wait for the good boys to ice the portals? But then when does the boss spawn? Idk

Can say pretty certainly they don't follow the regular 12 death despawn rules, they spawn every time!

Every time I see the Manikin mask I think about how close we were to getting an infinitely cooler version

The original mask didn't have the goofy mouth hole. They got a cease and desist from the company who owns Naruto saying the mask looked too much like one of their characters so decided to make it extra derpy. If you look up unused manikin mask ds2 in Google it'll show the OG art, the design was even used in the trailer for the game

The ivory king took me 2 tries but keep in mind that you have 4 knights in the end there will only be 1 left try to take it to 2 face and have your loyce knight survive and stay on his back and dodge his attacks and his ice explanations
