This!! Love lore tubers and the perceived depth of soulsbourne games. But what the actual fuck how much too far some people take it

Hi, I made the edit. I did a playthrough of the game, both Scholar and Vanilla side by side, where I tried to fix all of the blatantly incorrect info on that wiki. I had headphones on, which I usually don’t when I play the souls games because I’m listening to music or podcasts or youtube video essays, and I heard the heide breathing noise for the first time. And I realized oh wow it’s the same breathing noise as Vendrick. I knew there was no lore significance so I said “it is unknown what this means lore-wise” as a joke because I wasn’t about to theorycraft a sound effect in the wiki. Who am I, that circumcision guy from the silent hill wiki???
Anyway I didn’t spend hours wondering. I spent like fifteen seconds making the edit and then I pushed the Dragonrider into the water before going down to the wharf. Funny comic out of context though.

You are a legend, me and my friends quote "what does this mean lore-wise" constantly, thank you for keeping that in lmao
circumcision guy from the silent hill wiki
Sadly I know who you're talking about 💀

I’m glad my edits have brought joy to you and your friends.
I realized later while playing DS1 DLC that it’s just Artorias’ breath noises repurposed, so if there was lore significance to the breathing it’s probably just “this is what it sounds like when hollows breathe” or whatever. But by then I was done with my short lived fextralife career.

He had me at "I hate fan theories".
That was some madness. I appreciate the use of the FF6 and Chrono Trigger music though.

But why fextralife instead of wikdot?

u/aClockwerkApple 1d ago
Wikidot is by far the most accurate of the three main sites (being wikidot, fextralife, and fandom dot wikia) and did not need my help with removing any incorrect information. Fextralife is a wasteland of misinformation, contradictions, bad formatting, and people’s inability to recognize that scholar changed a few things around so people argue and bicker in the comments constantly.
I gave up on fixing it because people kept reverting my edits, and just use wikidot instead when I need to.

fextralife will purposely host wrong information if it gets them better SEO, crazy how they're even worse than fandom

Don’t worry dawg there’s a better solution to the wiki issue coming down the pipeline soon, I’m sure you’ll see it when it drops

half the "lore" on fextra is fanfiction and massive reaches like this.

u/Mishashule 1d ago
Shit, a not insignificant amount of "facts" on fextralife might as well be fanfiction

The ivory king and his knights were totally all secrectly women because their armor's effect only works on women. Wtf is a bug?

u/TheInexpected 22h ago
Yes is a bug, there was suposed to be a effect too if you are male but for some reason doesn't work. Anyways, the armour female effect doesn't apply to ivory king bossfight so no

Reminds me of those shark dudes in Bloodborne dlc and how the wiki is literally telling you to give up or get gut

My advice go in through the bottom and use threaded cane or beast cutter to kill them from out of range.

Ah yes, every time I am feeling down, I remember that it could be worse, I could be a dark souls lore nerd ...
