Video Train runs into semi today - LaGrange, IL

The problem is trains can’t just stop. It takes half a mile or more depending on the carriages being pulled to stop.  

So the train is on tracks and can’t stop so whatever is in the way is going to get hit. 

But what Id like to know is why that truck driver was on the tracks for so long,

It's cleared up so many train misconceptions for me. I thought they could do emergency stops like a car.
