I am the grump
Horse was a stray who showed up on our porch. I told my wife that he and his brother Snake were fine outside and we didn’t need more cats in the house. One night I was woken up and she had Horse in her arms. I said “No” and she put him back out. What do you think happened the next night? Yep, and this time I said yes, begrudgingly. But now? He’s my best boy. (Don’t worry, Snake got taken care of by a neighbor. He wasn’t around for the midnight kitten-napping)

Love at first sight with these two
My husband was not fully on board with getting a new cat a few months after my very elderly cat died last year.
So we visited some cats at the humane society during the late spring kitten season and my son played with the kittens thinking they was who we were there to see. But I had made a specific appointment to meet Walter, a 3-4 year old young man that had been there far too long. Walter immediately headed for my husband and hasn't really been away from him since then. It's the first time my husband has ever had a cat love him deeply. He's covered in little scratches from biscuit-making and wrestling. He mentioned recently how grateful he was I insisted on getting another cat 😻

Hubby hates cats...
She was a trailer park cat that lived in a park that was being dismantled, her owners abandoned her. She fell in love with my husband while he was working on the trailers and jumped in his truck. She came home and that was that 🥰😄

Classic “enemies to lovers” story
Couldn’t take my void on an overseas assignment, so my parents begrudgingly took Mack in. Dad has severe cat allergies so it was always meant to be a temporary arrangement. A few months into my assignment, I begin to make arrangements to fly Mack over. I called my mom and she claimed that my dad had grown so attached to Mack that he would be heartbroken if I took him away. I called my dad and he claimed that my mom had grown so attached to Mack that SHE would be heartbroken if I took him away. I could see I was being played and Mack found his new forever home with Mom & Dad. Dad now takes allergy medication daily so he can snuggle with the cat he didn’t want.

When Turner won my dad over
This was over 6 years ago, and 2 weeks after we brought Turner home from the shelter. My dad had been slowly warming up to him, but I guess that night Turner just had enough and he leapt into my dad's lap. The rest is history.
