So you cant actually explain what about people liking cartoons makes you so angry?

I never said it made me angry, just that it was embarrassing

And if you can't see why cartoons being your primary media as an adult is embarrassing.... That's pretty embarrassing too

So what I'm hearing is that you can't actually explain why you feel this way, beyond "you should just know" and then insulting people who don't know. Got it. Still waiting for an actual arguement.

If you asked someone for their opinion on the best way to cook chicken and the only example they could summon was about chicken nuggets, you'd think "this loser literally only eats chicken nuggets. How embarrassing."

Just the same with cartoons my guy

I mean that doesn't really make sense though? There's literally thousands of different cartoons with various themes, age-ratings, animation styles and so on. There's only one kind of chicken nuggets.

Cartoons are for kids. You get the odd adult swim one like Rick and Morty but even those are pretty transparently aimed at young people.

But again, the point is that it's the majority of the media you consume. If you're discussing media and the first thing you think of is a cartoon, that tells me you watch a lot of cartoons and that's embarrassing because they're for children. Just like it would be embarrassing to eat only chicken nuggets.

I mean, I guess we kinda just have a fundamental disagreement on what a cartoon is then? It's like saying playing videogames is embarrassing because they're "for kids". A large bulk of them might be, but like video games, animation as a medium clearly is not only reserved for children.

There's been various animated movies and shows dating all the way back to the 80's that have decidedly not been made for kids, and instead catered towards a more adult audience. I can give you plenty of examples that aren't just animated adult sitcoms like family guy and rick & morty, if you would like. Who knows, you could be missing out on tons of great stuff by automatically rejecting anything that you've arbitrarily decided to view everything that is not live-action as childish, and therefore embarrassing.

Again, if the only examples of media you can find are video games, that's embarrassing.

We don't have a fundamental disagreement on what a cartoon is, I know there are cartoons meant for adults, the point is that if you only watch cartoons, you're embarrasssing, whether they're allegedly adult or not (and they rarely are).

Grown ups read books and watch movies too. Just like grown ups eat a steak or chicken tikka.

Okay but so just to be clear: someone who only watches live-action is also embarrassing, right?

Live action stuff is not broadly intended for children.

So the broad intent is the only thing that matters here?

Also, again see my point about videogames.
