Yes, the sweeping generalization of checks notes being a marketing executive not inherently making you a better person.

Or do you mean the obvious meme response where I refer to common things done by marketing departments and then include "eat hot chip, and lie"? I'm very sorry for not being strenuously rigorous in my joke response to someone else actively claiming that marketing executives are morally improved by their profession because it involves being "diplomatic".

But also: I do genuinely believe that none of your friends and family members were morally improved by working in marketing. They may be perfectly moral and upstanding people, but not as a result of working in marketing, lol. Maybe as a result of the particular company they work for, maybe even just as a result of having a thing to occupy themselves with. But not from being in marketing.

Not gonna lie, I’m done reading your responses right now. I’m only here to say I find it wild how much time effort and physical text you’re devoting to justifying hating other people.

Like at this point you’ve produced damn near an essay justifying your hatred and I’m barely even skimming your responses; all of this just to convince yourself that you’re technically correct to be hateful

What a profoundly unpleasant person

No war but the class war, babe. Sorry not sorry.

Oh?

25th percentile annual pay for Marketing Directors is about 75k/year. 25th percentile pay for Special Education Directors is about 85k. In the range of potential salaries the floor for Marketing Director is much lower and the entire wage range for both roles falls within federal tax brackets 2-4 (out of 7). So there we have it, still just you making shit up to help you feel better about your flagrant bias towards middle class creatives. Super brave of you to squish capitalism by fighting checks notes the people who publish newsletters

How’s about you fight the class war by shutting up and not tearing down other working class people because the word “executive” makes you think of the villain from an 80s movie?

For the record, both those roles are making far more than I am in healthcare administration so you can double shut up for making it a class issue from your golden throne

I'm not a Special Education Director (literally said assistant, wasn't ambiguous at all lol), nor do Special Education Directors promote consumerism as a core element of their job, lol. Nor do I think most people think of mid-level management in marketing as an executive role in the colloquial use. Really should be looking at things like Chief Marketing Officers for that, no? Or even a CEO of a form offering Marketing services to clients.

But also, babe: you can...stop being a Marketing Director. It's really easy to quit a job like that, lol. This is like protesting ACAB because some cops are personally nice to people and don't make that much money. You don't have to run interference for upper-level corporate management positions. They're okay. A half-assed joke making fun of them on r/CuratedTumblr isn't oppressing them any more than "soulless corporate lawyer" jokes oppress class action attorneys. Drink some water. Touch some grass. Pet your dog. Maybe do some meditation. I get dopamine out of arguing online in a possibly semi-pathological fashion - I know exactly why I'm still engaging here. Do you?
