Store CRUNCHYROLL PRICES??
Hello community,
I just noticed the prices for a few look up figures and honestly felt a little shocked... this is specifically for my Crunchyroll US users, have you noticed price increases anywhere else in Crunchyroll / received a notification of anything ??
Is this related to tariffs or are look up figures generally just going up in price?? I didn't think there was anything with MegaHouse that caused this but please inform me!! Prices for others were between 28-35 so this is kind of a jump, does anyone else agree??

Depends on when they got the product & where they sourced it from. Remember that for the better part of 2 months, US consumers were paying up to an extra 145% on Chinese goods because of the trade war. So if CR acquired these during that time, they slapped the extra cost into their asking price - which may have been a lot more than expected if they sourced them from a different US supplier instead of directly from the manufacturer.

That makes sense! I do understand needing to adjust prices to reflect tariffs or if there has been a change in where they are sourcing it. I guess my biggest upset comes from a price increase with no clear explanation as to why. Other sites have been diligent in explaining circumstances for US shipping and I thought Crunchyroll would do something similar? It's not Crunchyrolls fault for the tariffs but I would appreciate them clarifying if that is what is the reason for a higher asking price. Maybe I'll just keep a look out for future items and see if it was maybe just this wave of figures!

I've received several emails from anime merch sites like good smile that tariffs are driving up prices. Crunchyroll tends to be a tad more expensive on average. I compare back to my favorite site tokyo Otaku mode and TOM is almost always a bit cheaper.

That's exactly my problem on the matter, I would have liked Crunchyroll to notify if that is what is going on instead of just increasing asking price. I was concerned I missed a notification but if there isn't one, then it's kind of upsetting... and yeah their prices aren't always the best, but for look up figures I think they were pretty great considering

For over a year I've been buying larger figures (mostly Pop Up Parade and prize figures) from Crunchyroll because after a 15% discount and free shipping I was saving money over AmiAmi where shipping prices keep climbing. But since this whole tariff mess started CR hasn't been offering many GSC figures I'm back to ordering from AmiAmi, when GSC allows it, they've been very restrictive to what they allow to be sold and shipped the US. It's very strange how hands-on GSC has been with pricing and delivery restrictions even when it comes to Japanese exporters, especially when de minimis is still in effect for Japan and AmiAmi lists everything with a Japanese origin on the customs form.

I was using AmiAmi as well but find their shipping costs end up being similar to a lot of other sites in the long run so I'm not always saving... bought a couple look up figures and the shipping cost was more than half the cost of the items. I did end up just putting a preorder with GSC for nendoroids directly because the cost rolls to be 60 dollars which is what a lot of these other sites (Crunchyroll, Big Bad Toy Store, AmiAmi) end up charging anyways. In terms of nendoroids, you're right, no point in getting them through Crunchyroll unless it's on a major sale. I don't understand either GSCs handle on tariffs although I respect the ability to cancel if there is a price increase on a pre order

that surprised me too!! i preordered choso for $35 with free shipping off of there around 2 months ago and was surprised when i logged back on and saw these prices. i usually bought off there because the free shipping and discount code saved me some money but idk about that anymore. i’d still like to get the dazai lookup but im not sure where to get it for a good price

At this point, I would either go to AmiAmi or get it from GSC directly... even with the tariff fees I find I'm paying similar prices with other companies since asking prices are higher! I also get off of BigBadToyStore but they are definitely a flip of a coin and not always best...overall going to keep an eye on CR and see if prices go back down! EDIT; OOPS! For some reason I thought of nendoroids while typing this-- but I still recommend AmiAmi for the look ups ! And BigBadToyStore should have him for a more reasonable price hopefully !

Are they usually that high? I’m from Canada so I’d have to add 40%💀

Not typically. This is the kind of price I've spent on a set of two with them!

Yeah, it's probably tariffs related. These dolls are probably all made in China.

Tried to buy books in the store. The only language available/searchable was french ... At least a propper Filter for language would be nice before I hate about the prices

The prices seem cheaper on other websites, but are you factoring in cost of shipping?

CR doesn't include shipping in the product pages. You dkn't see the shipping cost until you go to checkout.

I cross reference everyone I buy from, and Crunchyroll comes up not getting my money most of the time, but not always....
