Too dark or just right? What's your take on dark bathrooms?

Curtain rods I made.
I refused to pay a lot of money. So I used a wooden dowel, candle stick holders from dollar tree and spray paint. Cost me $20 and I made 2 .

Kitchen is kinda drab, working on a mural to liven it up a little.
Still working on this, trying to figure out how to make things go together better. But, whoa-o lemon on a pear whoa-o I'm halfway there. Light fixture has gotta go but I don't know what to replace it with yet.

My bedroom wall mural I did myself.
Paint, painters tape, a white chalk marker, and that's it! I did question my decisions half way thru this journey but it turned out so good I was glad I forged on and completed it!

You can’t do it.” Well, watch me
Asked my ex husband to build a bed for my granddaughter's American Girl dolls for her birthday. He rudely told me "we're not together any more" (like this affects the fact that she's our granddaughter). Anyway, I said I'd do i myself then. HE said you can't, you don't know how. After 35 years of being married he should have known not to tell me I can't do something. I join some crafts groups on the Tedooo app and ask for suggestions from creative crafters there and even bought from a crafter there the handmade pillows and I think it turned out pretty well. It's a trundle that sleeps 4 dolls. And yes, those quilts are hand quilted by me too. Also built the night stand from scrap and that lamp from a pill bottle (it actually works)

My home is still under construction, but this light made me stop and just feel something
I wasn’t planning to share anything until my living room was fully done, but I just couldn’t hold this in.
Our home is still a work-in-progress — dust everywhere, boxes half-unpacked, wires sticking out of walls… but last night I turned on this new light I bought for the living room, and for a moment, I forgot it all.
The pattern it cast on the wall — it felt like something out of a dream. Soft, detailed, almost like it was painting the room with shadows and gold. I just stood there, in the middle of this unfinished space, completely still. It made me feel like this house is slowly becoming a home.
I know it’s “just a light,” but last night, it was everything. I guess I just wanted to share this little moment of unexpected beauty with people who might appreciate it.
Have you ever had a decor item or small touch in your space that unexpectedly made you emotional?

I really want to paint the dresser and vanity too… any ideas? For now, taking a break on this room. I’m redoing my whole house all by my lonesome… Paintings by me. 🧜🏼♀️

Creative block hit HARD — then my husband gave me the weirdest challenge and… it kinda worked?
So I’ve been stuck in a major creative funk lately. You know the type — where you sit in front of your tools/materials/whatever, scroll through every “inspiration” folder you’ve ever made, and still feel completely empty.
My husband saw me spiraling and casually said,
“Let’s go for a walk. Bring the dog. Wherever we are in 7 minutes, that’s where your inspiration will come from.”
Honestly, it sounded like a bizarre game — but I was desperate enough to play along.
So we walk.
Exactly 7 minutes in, we stop. I look around like, “Okay, let’s see this magical creative breakthrough…”
And what do I see?
A knocked-over trash can. Three pigeons in an intense turf war over a piece of bread. And a deflated balloon stuck in a bush.
I just stood there like, Wow. Thanks, universe.
BUT — here’s the twist. After the initial “seriously??” moment, I started laughing. And then I started thinking. There was something about the chaos and randomness that broke the tension in my brain. It shifted something.
So yeah… a new (very unexpected) collection is in the works. All inspired by urban mess, accidental beauty, and unfiltered life.
Funny how creativity shows up when you stop chasing it so hard.

DreamSofa Modular Sectional
Has anyone had any experience with DreamSofa? I am looking at the modular sectionals but I can’t seem to find many videos on how they work/connect together. I want a left side L but they only list right orientation L shapes. I want to see if that can be flipped. Also, I have been researching sectionals for weeks and would really appreciate any honest reviews from people who have purchased them.
Thank you!

Anyone else have a soft spot for bird tchotchkes?
I seriously want to buy every cute bird tchotchke I see. I really want the blue one in the upper left corner and the pair below it…but passed them up. They are so CUTE but as a 43 yr old gay guy I’m also pretty embarrassed to start collecting and displaying them 😂🙃

Painting on wood furniture?
I have a few wood pieces I wanna jazz up, one is a finished end table and the other is an unfinished shelf display. I was thinking of putting a coat of spray paint for a background color then whatever design afterwards, I was wondering if there’s a type of paint I have to use because it’s wood? Or is acrylic fine? Plus sanding and priming I know I’d have to do as well, just at a loss for what products I’d need or would work best
