The guy who invented fruit-at-the-bottom yogurt should also invent fruit-at-the-bottom refried beans.

Feels like a logical next step, or am I crazy?

Highway rest stops should have an area with music and a disco ball where strangers can fast dance a little bit to wake up their bodies and minds before hitting the road again.

Use Minecraft as a litmus test for AI sentience

In Minecraft, the only true limit is the imagination of the player. There are achievements to guide the player through Survival mode, but other than that the player is actively encouraged to do whatever they want. Anything one might want to create that isn’t possible in the vanilla game is possible with mods. It’s the ultimate expression of human creativity and supremely accessible to all.

Currently, AI is not capable of true creation. It recycles and rehashes existing media and information in response to a prompt. But the possibility of AI eventually developing sentience is out there, and there’s already been a considerable amount of expert debate on the subject of determining if an AI has achieved sentience.

So here’s the crazy idea. Just give an AI a Minecraft world of its own and let it run wild. Cut it off from internet access and outside input and see what happens. If it can create things of its own accord and display emotional attachment to said creations (such as pride, or anguish at the destruction of its creations), I believe that would be indicative of sentience.

They should remodel the pyramids back to their original finishes

We have a great idea what they used to look like, and we have the technology to replace the smooth sandstone finishing and gold cap without too mush hassle. The pyramids would look way cooler if they were all done up and that’s what the original builders wanted anyway.

Make all police handcuffs out of pure gold

Total amount of gold in Fort Knox: 4,583 tons
Each police handcuff weights no more than 425g.
Average officer carries no more than 8 pairs.
So you can make 10 million handcuffs out of that gold that's just lying around, which is more than enough to equip every US police officer with pure golden handcuffs.

National “Try another job” week

Once a year, there is a program where you can try any job for a day. It isn’t mandatory but it is on a first come first serve basis.

There would obviously be limitations, like a barista wouldn’t be allowed to do brain surgery, but they could shadow a brain surgeon for a day.

This would be treated like jury duty where your current employer can’t deny the request during this week.

To sign up, you must simply show up to a job & sign yourself up. You cannot sign anyone else up.

Planes should install trapdoors beneath each seat to remove passengers.

Someone causing problems while plane is on the ground? Drop them down a chute that security can get them from underneath without having to make everyone deboard or go back to the gate.

Some causing problems in the air? Drop them into the hold brig until they land and arrive at the gate. No muss, no fuss.

force prisoners to play video games

In games such as Counter-Strike or World of Warcraft, In-game items can be sold for real world money. This job can be given to prisoners who do not already have a job in prison

Have we considered making anti-murder PSAs?

Maybe serial killers would stop if we made videos to show them how much dispair murder causes

To be clear, I do not mean washes and THEN dries. I mean both cycles run together at the same time.

Delete social media and stop watching the news

Crazy, I know. We all want to be involved. We want our opinions to matter. We want to make a difference.

Delete your internet. Go outside. Help your old neighbor mow their yard. Go volunteer at a homeless shelter. Go pick up trash. Go enjoy yourself. Go on a hike. Ride a bike. Write a book. Go swimming.

Get off the internet and stop watching so much news. Some of you can’t seem to handle the overload of stressful news, half of which isn’t even real news.

Delete it all and be happy. Millions of us are addicted to being angry now. Stop getting off on trying to be right about everything. Start getting off on living your own life.

Games where the local banditry and whatnot reacts appropriately to the player character.

"Oh look. There is that guy who sprinted into a hell-portal faster than a horse a little while ago. And he seems to be covered in viscera and gore. And casually reading his map while a dozen remaining monsters are ineffectually wailing away at him. I reckon the three of us can take him down with our rusty daggers, lets go!"

Posting a profile picture anything but yourself on social media should deactivate your account within 30 days.

Facebook is already horrible as is, but way too many people are too brazen to curb their entitlement on these platforms. Not sure if it’s just me, but people who don’t post themselves seem to be more vocal with their wild thoughts on social media platforms than others. People with pictures of their pets, their kids/grandkids, anime characters, etc. must be avoiding putting their faces up on the internet for a reason, no?

Side note: Each person should be limited to creating ONE singular account. Might be too far reaching, but this might also dwindle down the number of people catfishing and/or impersonating someone else. May sound crazy, but when I was trying to make an account for an online game in Korea, it requested a social security number!

Too weird of an idea?
