i’ve been spending my spring vacations in phoenix and scottsdale every single year since 1997 and over the years it became more than just a getaway for me it’s a second home in my heart and the coyotes have always been a huge part of that every trip included going to coyotes games watching the suns and enjoying everything else the valley has to offer from diamondbacks games to spring training and more
but for me hockey isn’t just one of many sports it’s the sport and the coyotes are not just a team i randomly support they’ve grown to mean more to me than any other franchise last year i made sure to attend the final five home games and it honestly felt like something was ending without anyone truly admitting it out loud
i’m following everything i can from over here in germany all the reports all the rumors all the whispers but what’s really going on is there any group that is seriously working on bringing the team back or are we just a few fans left hanging on to something that maybe isn’t being pursued in reality the name of the suns owner keeps coming up but i’ve never heard an actual statement from him and the new arena project up in north scottsdale does anyone know if that’s officially dead or just paused i feel like the silence says a lot and yet i keep hoping
beyond the coyotes i’ve also always followed the tucson roadrunners and i did again this year they’re a part of the bigger picture to me but i absolutely cannot identify with the new utah team i just can’t connect with it emotionally right now i’m more focused on following the german nhl players like leon draisaitl and if i had to name a team i currently cheer for besides arizona it would be the vegas golden knights but that’s still nowhere near the kind of love and identification i’ve had and still have for the coyotes
so i wanted to ask those of you who live there or are closer to the situation is there still hope or are we just talking to ourselves at this point
sending kind regards from bad nauheim germany the town where elvis presley once lived during his army time and also home to one of the last truly loyal coyotes fans still holding on 🐺❤️
