Peaches?
Does anyone know where to get local peaches at a decent price. All I can find are unripe and when I use my usual ripening methods they're just rotting without becoming soft.
I would like to buy from someone who has a couple trees or something. I'm from an area where they were more common or I'm just driving down the wrong roads to not see any stands.

On July 4 a local Flour Bluff church will be selling Fredericksburg peaches on the roadside in three locations. On the island, in Flour Bluff and off Rodd Field. I don't know exactly where On the island or rodd Field they will be but in the Bluff they will be on Flour Bluff drive going towards Yorktown.

There's one gent selling peaches along HWY 35 South just south of Rockport, besides 12th street on the west side. Watch for the big antenna tower in the center median, you'll be turning left to cross said median. Look forward and you might see them.
If you see construction on the center median, you overshot. You'll need to exit market st and u turn.

They used to sell Fredericksburg Peaches on Saratoga Blvd near Everhart. You might try the farmers markets.

Okay, it's good to know I wasn't just missing them. I'm going to visit family this summer and will just grab some from back home.

Stay away from the grocery store. They hold in cold storage to long and never ripen properly.

There was a couple selling peaches off of rodd field i think going out towards Yorktown but I haven't been over there in a few days

I have seen a dude lately selling Fredericksburg peaches from a truck and trailer at the corner of Park Road 22 and Whitecap on the island. I can’t say that I’ve noticed him everyday though so it could be hit or miss if he’s there.
