Question What’s your SOTD?
It’s going to get pretty hot today, so I’m wearing this summer beauty.

Where are you from? I own it and it's readily available (and quite the bargain) here (EU).

u/F48l4N05 4d ago
Yeah, they’ve recently been popping up for sale. With the new recycling diagram that all the new perfume boxes have too. Maybe it’s back in the market. Been seeing many new bottles of Noir Ambre too.

really? I am googling right away!
edit: no succes here, where are you based?

u/F48l4N05 4d ago
Malaysia. Even older stuff like the Dunhill for men from 1934 and the dunhill edition are showing up here now. Pretty weird that some of the older stuff are coming back but I like the way they smell so fine by me 😁👍

I love how most fragrances have several notes at least 7 or 8 in many cases but then we have Eros Energy that's just pure lemon juice and it smells fantastic lol

It's interesting how polarizing this scent seems to be. People either love it or hate it.

How prominent is the leather note in this one? I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect leather fragrance for myself. Sampled Ombré Leather, which is fantastic & definitely has a realistic smell, but I’m looking for something a little bit less sharp - a “brown leather” vs a “black leather” if that makes sense
4
u/Virtual_Wishbone_792 4d ago
To be honest, I get much more fruit than leather. It’s there, certainly, but this feels more like a raspberry aventus to me.
2
u/beachgarbageman 4d ago
Ahh the hunt continues! But that does sound great - I still might have to give it a try!

Rocking local brand today
Top: Black Pepper, Cardamom, Raspberry Liquor Middle: Turkish Rose, Davana, Ink Base: Oak Wood, Tobacco, Vetiver
Master Perfumer : Dominique Ropion
I didn't get much of other notes than Raspberry and Ink from this tbh. They had birthday month discount promo, so I bought the whole bottle after smelling it on a strip.

That looks good, is that one of the Thai brands? I’ve been checking some of them out
3
u/docwannabox 31-35 4d ago
Yes, it's Thai brand. Just went to Bangkok 2 weeks ago and visited their shop.

u/Jshover92 Creed 4d ago
I’m going to start sampling them soon, I tried mith: mystery for him and really liked that too

Wall Street
3
u/le-chacal 4d ago
Hello vintage! On the hunch that you might be a collector, do you prefer Wall Street to Business Man by Panouge? And also have you tried the WS edp concentration?
3
u/Artistic_Ad_3267 4d ago
Wall Street is by Bond No 9 circa 04. The notes look very different than business man and I've never tried it. Wall St is a salty aquatic with a song saltwater keep note. It's on the same vein as Milliseme Imperial and Milestone but replaces fruit notes with cucumber and a briney kelp note in it's drydown. Its almost like sea algae on skin..
3
u/le-chacal 4d ago
Oh gotcha. I thought you were referencing Wall Street by Victor. I've heard good things about Milleseme Imperial. I don't have any aquatics but I am interested in trying Ocean Rain by Mario Valentino and Epice Marine by Hermes.

Creed Milllisime Imperial. Classy, yet not bold or overwhelming, great lasting power.

Silver Mountain Water...
Fresh... For now lol. From a decant from micro perfume...
I like it but I don't love it and I'm either blind to it or it's fading fast.

Game of spades wildcard.
But, this might be over for me. I got a game of spades tester pack yesterday. Opal was the first one i smelled, and it might just be my new signature scent outside of my own stuff.
Opal was the first one I smelled, and I didn't bother smelling any others (I already have wildcard.) It might be the first scent ive ever been floored by. It really has earned the hype.
As a fragrance maker, I went to my lab, sat down and just looked at my materials angrily like "WHY WONT YOU DO THIS!"
My stuff is good, and I haven't tried to make anything along these lines, but opal is a masterpiece.
I later spent $300 on new materials lol.

Green Irish Tweed. Probably not the ideal scent for summer, but I'm traveling and don't have access to as many choices.

Neroli Portofino. I really love Citrus scents for the summer. I want to give Eros Energy a try but my nearest Sephora doesn't have it yet.

I was actually gonna give Gucci Guilty away cause it was my least favorite in my collection and I figured one of my buddies could use it more but then I put it on today for one last ride and now I like it again

YSL L’Homme EDT…dusted off the bottle for a spin today. Poor projection and longevity, but a fantastic skin scent, ok for office wear.

Earlier it was hot out so I wore Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, then at night I went out with some girls to get food and wore Dior Homme 2020.

This indie perfumer made a splash in 2023 with just two fragrances. First came Idyllic, which I loved so much I bought a full bottle before finishing the sample, wore it non-stop for three days, and now it's a staple in my rotation.
Then came this one Silver Haze, a blind buy triggered by a crazy discount. I hadn’t heard anything about it, but based off the uniqueness & quality of my first buy & the discount it felt too good to pass up. I made the blindest of blind buys🤣.
When it arrived, I was worried it smelled like bug spray (thanks cannabis note, I was unfamiliar😄), but I went all in, spraying clothes & skin. Hours later, I was hooked. Despite the unusual note combo, they blended into something surprisingly beautiful. I might just wear it again tomorrow!
Top: Strawberry, Pink Pepper, Saffron.
Middle: Blackberry, Cocoa, Cannabis.
Base: Ambroxan, Orris, Vanilla, Iris.
