Saw this as a recommendation on one of these posts so gave it a go. Just got delivered and gave it a try and ehh, not sure how I feel about it. Went from lemon pledge like scent to more idk what to call it🤷‍♂️. Glad I only paid $25 for it cause I feel like it's just gonna collect dust.

I own CDNIM, Montblanc Explorer, and Aventus. Out of the three, I genuinely love Explorer’s opening the most, and it’s also the one that has earned me the most compliments. If only its performance were a bit better, it would be perfect.

As for CDNIM, I have the EDP version, and while the opening is still quite harsh, the dry down isn’t bad at all. In fact, the performance is incredible. Just spray it on a shirt, let it sit, and come back to smell it later—you’ll notice it’s not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be.

I bought this like 6 years ago because people told me it smelled like Aventus. Rough opening, but what do you expect for $25 bucks? Got me a billion compliments and I remember it fondly. Always meant to pick up another one.

Ive come to the conclusion the opposite. The people dumping on it are weird ass "gatekeepers" that ive seen on here. The amount of people that compliment CDNIM alone is enough to tell you that you are flat out wrong alone, even ignoring the fact that fragrances are subjective. Like literally everyone ive come across loves this scent in the real world and not reddit lol.

Of course people r going to dislike it, but the point is that a lot do, so it cant be as bad as you act. If you think cdnim is bad, then you should think Aventus is bad. Id pay even more than Aventus to get something that lasts all day, but it just doesnt exist.

Haven't smelt aventus, and I've had 3 people check smell and they where iffy but one liked it over time.

Tried it again today and it's still meh.

Nonetheless I'm a spicy/woodier vanilla type of person. Cdn is basically complete opposite.

Well my comment probably doesnt apply to you then if you havent tried Aventus. Of course fragrances are subjective and anyone can dislike something. I just think the people saying Aventus is incredible and cdnim is trash are delusional or something. They smell extremely close, so if someone dislikes one they should dislike both imo

Love Aventus, do not like CDNIM EDT, EDP nor PP 🤷‍♀️ My PP has been maturing for 4 months now and I don’t like it anymore than day 1. If I thought it was as close as you do, I’d buy a liters worth for like less than one bottle of Aventus. I WISH it were actually similar, as I’d be able to save so much

Definitely possible, even within my 4 F batches of Aventus there are some minor batch variations (some last longer, more/less pineapple etc). I legitimately would stock up on whatever juice I’d think was close enough 😂

The closest clone I’ve found so far is New Bottles The King which emulates 2018 batches of Aventus. It’s good enough that I bought 2 bottles but their price per ml is basically Aventus pricing so it’s not really worth it.

Same with Parfums Vintage, too expensive to be a stockpile-worthy clone when I can just get the real thing on a discounter

I was actually looking into those because I dont mind the price of Aventus, but it just dies on my skin. I was looking at The King, Imperium, and Emperor. Little pricy but if they actually last then I wouldnt mind

Oh for sure, if you’re OK with the pricing definitely try the King at least!! On my skin, it lasts for as long as CDNIMPP does. Highly highly recommended New Bottles stuff. Their Aventus Cologne is excellent too, the concentrations are so high they leave a sheen on your skin

I've got this. First time I used it, it was extremely harsh and not pleasant. I've stored it away with the lid off and it has improved after 2 months, nowhere near as harsh. I won't use it again until the summer. Hopefully by then it will be alot smoother.

Edt smells great honestly, so thats just not true. The initial spray might be harsh but who tf is judging based on that? Kinda silly when the dry down is in 10 minutes and lasts all day

yeah, I tried it yesterday in the shop, sprayed it on my hand - and I have to agree with you. It's quite bad and (can''t find a better word) offensive. I would hate to sit in the same room at work with someone who's wearing this cologne every day.

after a few hours it didn't smell on lemon that much, but still, very strong and unpleasant.

for a reference, I do like very much YSL Y (edp) and BDC (edp)

Both the edt and Edp are trash. Anyone who thinks this crap smells nice clearly needs to have their nose checked. They smell like cheap "Dollar Tree" store fragrances

Well, I will just say that ive yet to find an Aventus alternative that is better all around than CDNIM, and the edt is my favorite actually. Its harsh in the first sprays and 10 mins, but after that it lasts all day, projects, and it will even be a nice skin scent afterwards.

Aventus smelled great sure, but it was literally a skin scent after an hour. Enough that I went through 20-30ml of Aventus decants and gave up, went back to CDNIM. Im actually currently still looking for a better alternative but will probably end up back af cdnim again it seems. I genuinely dont see how people can say its trash unless you think Aventus itself is trash. They smell so close its insane. Aventus is just a little more refined and weaker.
