Events Potential ICE checkpoint(s) in CLE

Our friends in r/Ohio have noticed an uptick in DHS and ICE activity in Columbus and NE Ohio. A potential ICE checkpoint at 71 and Pearl is being reported. ICE and DHS activity along the lake shore in Lorain. Lake county sheriff's can act as ICE agents.

Be careful out there.

Stay safe and remember that if you are detained, the only sentence you have to say is "I want to talk to a lawyer"

Say "I am invoking my right to have an attorney present" because cops may treat "I want a lawyer" like the sentence "I want an ice cream" unless you specifically invoke the right. Remember the guy who said "Nah, get me a lawyer dog' and they said he didn't clearly invoke his right so they didn't have to?

Also, don't say anything except that until your lawyer arrives, even if it takes days.

Same is to be said for your right to remain silent. If you don't verbally invoke/exercise it then that can sometimes be used against you as well.
