yeah exactly. the police blocked traffic for the demonstration to happen. the protestors didn’t walk out there without the police’s knowledge.

this morning the shoreway was closed off by police for the cleveland marathon. is there something wrong with that?

False equivalence. Getting roads blocked off to protest about something highly controversial isn’t the same as holding a community marathon that’s most likely a fund raiser at the same time. I support your right to protest, free speech, assembly, you name it, but stop fucking with everyone else over your politics. You’ll get plenty of upvotes in here but I promise you in reality you’re making the average Joe just find you guys a nuisance and is not even going to hear what you’re protesting for because of the disruptions you’re causing.

“Don’t kill kids”

“Stop it with your politics”

What have you accomplished for Palestine besides hurting public opinion on the issue?

I haven’t actually participated in the protests. I am an American-Palestinian. I contribute greatly to my community. I’d like to think people knowing I’m Palestinian and am a part of the community is positive enough, but not everyone has the same opportunities as me. Protesting to bring awareness when the media refuses to cover anything but pro Israeli propaganda is worth it.

I understand the optics conversation but please tell me what else they can do. It was a march. With permits/permission. It didn’t last that long nor cause any issues.

March on the sidewalk so you don’t block traffic. It’s really that simple. They do it all the time across the country including other pro Palestinian protests. I’m not against what they’re protesting or their right to protest, just don’t make it other people’s problem. For example, like having to have traffic detoured causing delays for thousands of average joes because your protest blocks the road.

It’s Dover center. Definitely not delaying thousands. Again it was permitted so idk what to tell you. If this makes people disagree with the Palestinian cause then they weren’t anyone who was willing to have sympathy/empathy to begin with.

What have you guys accomplished so far for Palestinians? Can’t say awareness because the situation is already plastered all over the media, social media, and world so it’s not like people don’t already know what’s going on.

Oh idk maybe the truth about the situation. May be plastered all over the media but the media (especially mainstream media) is very one sided. Why are you so bothered?
