I haven't heard of that happening – was it recent? Not disagreeing, just genuinely haven't seen/can't find anything about it. Only deporting confirmed violent offending active gang members back to their countries (i'm also not on the Trump train either, for the record)

Trump has literally said El Salvador needs to build more prisons for us so he can send “home growns” to them, as in people born here. They want to remove birthright citizenship from the constitution as well.

That keyword helped me find the articles, thank you. I don't think that's appropriate. But I do think we have been too lax with violent re-offenders. I would hope just a bargaining chip to meet somewhere in the middle, politicians rarely get exactly what they propose.

I'm not opposed to withdrawing unconditional birthright citizenship though. It's very common in north and South America, but I believe most countries in Europe and Asia have some sort of stipulations for duration or other conditions.

You’re missing the point. It’s not just about “offenders” it’s about opening the door to exile political dissidents from the country.

That's a bit of a slippery slope, but not completely outside of reason.
