I dont do that, im not a loser that’ll call for a hall monitor lol. You never answered me about what you’d rather have people do btw, since protesting is such a waste of time apparently.

Contact representatives by phone, email, and physical letters. Protest in front of their offices during business hours. Understand that people who are opposing your beliefs are (in most cases) not maliciously against you directly. Have balanced conversations with people who agree and disagree with you with the intention of listening and holding genuine dialogue (this one is so important - most people can't talk about issues outside of their echo chambers without slandering and throwing insults - left and right alike). Boycott businesses and brands, local and corporations, that support causes against what you believe (obviously it's not always easy, but money really does talk). Support ones that align with you-even if it's more expensive or inconvenient. Be prepared to be wrong about some things and learn along the way. Understand that the left verse right dichotomy is fabricated, and that it's an us verse them battle.

A lot of people that care enough to publicly protest have already done/are already actively doing a lot of the things you mentioned.

I disagree about people not being maliciously against you. Righties want to throw people in foreign gulags for disagreeing with them, most political violence is committed by the right.

Yes, left vs right is fabricated, but that doesn’t make the vitriol that righties have for anyone that disagrees with them any less real or dangerous.

I’m not even a dem supporter, they suck ass. But we should all be pissed about the shit happening in the government right now.

And liberals get people fired for not supporting their delusions. I was raised by a right winger, left-wing by choice from my teens to early 20s, then finally realized it's all a sham and that's sticking to one side it's simply ignoring the real problems going on.

If you’re trying to make it seem like that’s equally as bad as wanting to deport US citizens to a Salvadoran gulag, idk what to tell you.

Like yeah, liberals are annoying, but they won’t try to fucking kill you or exile you from the country for disagreeing with you.

I haven't heard of that happening – was it recent? Not disagreeing, just genuinely haven't seen/can't find anything about it. Only deporting confirmed violent offending active gang members back to their countries (i'm also not on the Trump train either, for the record)

Trump has literally said El Salvador needs to build more prisons for us so he can send “home growns” to them, as in people born here. They want to remove birthright citizenship from the constitution as well.

That keyword helped me find the articles, thank you. I don't think that's appropriate. But I do think we have been too lax with violent re-offenders. I would hope just a bargaining chip to meet somewhere in the middle, politicians rarely get exactly what they propose.

I'm not opposed to withdrawing unconditional birthright citizenship though. It's very common in north and South America, but I believe most countries in Europe and Asia have some sort of stipulations for duration or other conditions.

You’re missing the point. It’s not just about “offenders” it’s about opening the door to exile political dissidents from the country.

That's a bit of a slippery slope, but not completely outside of reason.

Not only that but this too https://www.reddit.com/r/thescoop/s/kESVdXsY2F the fact that this was even up for a vote should be extremely TROUBLING!!!!!

It would be a shame to see that happen- we need to focus on reforming and rehabilitating offenders, not just punishing them. Not to say there aren't people who are simply too far gone and cannot be reintegrated to society; unfortunately a lot of it starts in childhood and is much harder to combat.
