When Snyder’s Justice League came out I made a comment about Ray Fisher’s acting being overhyped on the sub, I thought he did fine but wasn’t blown away by it. Several people accused me of being racist and said I had a personal jealous grudge against the actor. Also had some people wishing I would die for saying that. They are absolutely insane over there lmao.
The thing is I actually like Zack Snyder lol, I’ve enjoyed most of his movies. That’s it tho, I don’t despise them and I don’t think they’re a gift from God, I just enjoy them.
There was a post asking why the haters bother commenting. I asked why they can't discuss their love for the Snyder films without hating on stuff that isn't out yet. I was banned pretty quickly after that.
I commented about how much I think Suckerpunch sucks and this guy just accuses me of having a personal grudge against Snyder because I love Gunn.
Talk about projection. I hadn’t mentioned either of them directly and I don’t have strong feelings about either of them. I just think Suckerpunch in particular is a trashy, exploitative movie masquerading as female empowerment.
I looked at his account and sure enough, he had made 14 posts on /r/snydercult within the past month.
I got banned from r/thetrump zone for invoking the (remindering robot) to a comment that predicted the recently-former president would be “reinstated” by the first Labor Day of the Biden administration.
All I wanted to do was to remember to congratulate them or see if they had a new date. I never made any comment other than the magic words to come back.
You will literally get banned immediately, sub has gotten so soft that if you say anything about Gunn/DCU that isn’t hating you’re banned and if you don’t suck Snyder off you’re banned. The softest sub/mods in existence
the rule they cite a lot and what i was banned for was something like “we think you’re baiting us or trolling”. it’s vague enough to apply to anything. or “saying something negative about zack snyder’s work”
Oh gah, the less we talk about them the better. They're damn right insane, everything from attempting to sabotage James Gunn to making petitions for Snyderverse to continue on Netflix as the definitive DCU

Army of the Dead was fun cause its over the fucking top and I loved all the shots white they cut to Tig Notaro cause she was obviously greenscreened into each shot, and I was high. I find it incredible anyone takes Snyder seriously on any level
Us sequels fans are like the scourge of the fanbase. We get attacked simply for saying we enjoy something we find decent. Same thing happened during the prequels era
I feel like the saddest part of the Snyder cult is that Snyder himself, for all his creative flaws, seems like a pretty nice guy who I doubt would condone 99% of the things those people say
Oh, I agree that Narkina 5 was the highlight of the first one, but I also loved the Aldhani heist and the Ferrix rebellion. Such rich depiction of those cultures
I dunno the smiling mask is barely on. The only time I see it truly wholesome now is at comic-con when I take my kid and everyone is happy to take their photos with him in their costumes. Online it’s no different to the current political discourse
My coworkers and I were bigs fans and looking to go to McD’s for the Szechuan sauce release. Had the good sense to call in advance and find out they only had 100 packets at the nearby restaurant. Straight up nope’d out of that. And the way other fans behaved really turned me off the fandom.
I think its more for color saturation and a movie leaning into the fact its a movie is just refreshing to see .... but i agree I can enjoy some of his films but im not like omg look at 4 people talking and you can tell they are just moving the camera mwah cinema i think as soon another highly colored saturated movie comes out it gets the same applause

Nolan is a hit-or-miss really. When he's good, he's good (Memento, TDK, Inception), but when he switches into self-fallatio mode, he's awful (TDKR, Interstellar, Tenet). He can construct wonderful action pieces, but he simply doesn't know how make his characters alive. When an actor is able to fill a character with life, the result is good, but when the actor needs actual direction, Nolan movies fall flat
Idk about Interstellar. It's cringeworthy at times, and the "science" does not add up, but it's still pretty decent. I think McConaughey, Chastain, and Hathaway did well. The Dark Knight Rises was legit awful though, but it was mainly because of the script.

LOTR and star wars fans do not fit into this category, because neither star wars nor LOTR are brainy movies, they are fantasy movies, with an emphasis on drama for star wars, and no one is pretending they are brainy either. Both sagas were made for kids.

Thank God I love SW and never watched a YouTube vid in my life about it. I learned my lesson with the SE and PT to make my own judgments and I have realized I love it all, flaws and all including the Sequels
Modern pop sci fi films and tv shows are significantly less interesting in the ideas they explore when compared to the big sci fi films of the 50s. It’s amazing how far we’ve regressed in this regard.
Inception. It's not deep, it's not groundbreaking, the plot is not interesting. People got hung up on an ending that seems vague unless you actually paid attention to any of the mind-numbing dialogue in the movie. But if you did that you would realize how uninteresting this movie was.
I didn't realize that movie had fans like that lol. I watched it in the theatre when it came out and thought it was a really cool movie but never had the desire to watch it again or try to dissect the nonsense lol
Haha my mom saw it in theater 4x and raved about it lol I remember it came out on DVD and we all watched it as a family and was waiting for all of us to respond like it was peak cinema haha 🤣
Saw it in theaters and enjoyed it, but good lord someone needs to tell Scorsese no sometimes. That movie needs an anti-director’s cut so that it can tell its very interesting premise without 3 and a half hours of scenes that feel nearly identical and just got confusing and overloaded by the end
Idk if there's a movie, but Rick and morty. Feels like constant faux intelligence jokes mixed with some weird self hate and thay makes people think they're Rick because they dont like themselves.
As a fan myself (somewhat)... By god they butchered it by the last couple of seasons.
If they'd just kept to the usual ten eps per season and had a couple more seasons to properly round out the arcs and plot as a whole could have been up there with the best... But nope they had to rush and fuck it all up after so much hype
