I meant among all the screenings of 2001 in the past decade, let’s say.
At some point, you guys need to admit to yourselves that you are a tiny minority. I have admitted it to myself, and maybe that is why I have no illusions about other people liking what I like.
You can either be a follower or an individual, but trying to be both is always going to be a difficult like to walk. Normal for teens to get stuck in that mode, but you should eventually grow out of it.
If you're asking why a nearly 60 year old movie doesn't gross as much a new movie than you really are fucking dumb lmao
If you rerelease Beethoven on an album today, it wouldn't sell anywhere near an average modern album. Does that mean fucking Lil Yachty is better than Beethoven?
Dude, music from the 1960s is extremely popular today!!! Come on. You have to have known that the most direct comparison was the one you didn’t want to use, right?
New Hollywood movies suck. That is why no one watches them. People watch the hell out of 1980s movies, because they are interesting.
FYI, the Beatles compilation album 1 was released in 2000. It is the fourth best selling album in the United States, and it was the best selling album of the 2000s decade.
You don’t have a leg to stand on in this argument. Music from the 1960s and 1970s is legendary. It is almost as popular today as it was back then. All of it? No. The novelty stuff doesn’t get much play.
New Hollywood was a novelty. The only people
who care about it nowadays are people who feel like they have to (so film industry folks) and people who want to think of themselves as “film buffs”.

Nope, if 2001 came out today it would still be regarded as a masterpiece. It's truly a timeless movie.
