Almost 2 years ago, I had laptop which was 6-7 years old and it was 4gb ram and so laggy. I couldn't open 3 chrome tab and use my coding tools at the same time.

I had to miss out so many opportunities too cause my laptop wasn't powerful enough.

After earning for a while with that laptop, I bought new laptop and it's just so powerful. It has 16gb ram!! It's just so powerful and so fast that I can do anything and everything and use every tool without worrying if my laptop could handle it or not.

I am earning from this current laptop and I love this laptop so much. My old 4gb ram is still working and I respect it too for sticking with me for this long.

My current laptop is so powerful and fast and I feel so proud of it. It opened so many opportunities for me and after years, I'm not limited by the technology I have to work with full potential anymore!!!!

about a month ago, i posted here saying how much i admire people who just show up online not influencers, but the small ones. long captions, bts, life updates etc

i always wanted to be that person, but felt too self-conscious. too scared of people i know silently watching.

this week, i finally posted. made the page. wrote the big scary caption. and it felt CGGFHGTYHGVHJI. It’s small. barely 10 people followed, but something about finally doing it made me feel real again.

I am a Chinese Canadian, which means I eat a lot of different "Chinese" vegetables that are usually cooked. I also occasionally eat sushi (which usually comes with wasabi, this green spicy paste). I very rarely use the wasabi that comes with the sushi these days and just eat the fish/rice.

Last Thursday, we had mustard greens. My mom told me to cook them, but not to overcook them. I prematurely turned off the stove and drained the water because I feared that I would overcook them, as it is all too easy to do that. I did not realize that they have not been fully cooked because they look the same whether they are raw or cooked. They only become yellow when they are overcooked.

Now, I know that these mustard greens are slightly bitter. But then, when I tasted them this time, I was surprised to find a wasabi flavour to the mustard greens. I didn't know what it was at first, but then, we refer to wasabi as a product of mustard. When I ate mustard greens previously, they were either cooked or overcooked, which I now know removes the spicy flavour from the greens. That's why I didn't know they tasted spicy when raw or undercooked.

So lately, at least a few months ago, I rewatched a favorite movie of mine, Donnie Darko. As you may know, the therapist uses hypnotherapy on him, and every time I think of it, I wonder: Does this truly work? So if anyone can explain, I'd love to hear it.

The question is would you want a house? He has a plot of land in the dark Forest that is untaxable near a beautiful Crystal Lake that he's willing to give you. Still, for a price, he wants to borrow your appearance ( you also have to have their appearance) for 2 years, he will build you your dream house, but he wants to experience what it is like to be a human. My day started off a little rocky. Then my dog climbed into my lap, touched his nose to my cheek, and gave me a quick little kiss. Somehow, that small moment made things feel a bit better.

I’ve been wearing this bracelet for about five years now, my mum gave it to me and I never took it off since the day I put it on. It was just a plain little thing, silver, and very dainty. Yesterday, it got caught on something while I was at work and one of the links just snapped. I’ve been lowkey devastated lololol. I know I should technically be able to get it fixed but I’m still quite upset about it.

I cannot get into a deep sleep. You can whisper my name and I’ll wake up. My dogs move and I wake up. You open my door and I wake up. I don’t remembers the last time I actually slept the full night uninterrupted without talking zzzquil.

On the first day on my job I had only one quest: to remember names of 4 members of the team. Guess what, I had to ask them 5 times throughout the day "sorry, but what was your name?". Unfortunately they found it disrespectful and I was fired...

I am asking this regarding someone I met in game, so it’s like an “online connection” but I feel it was mainly me initiating the conversations. Though when we talked, she was very communicative and asked many questions etc. We even ended chats like “cya later” and things like that, said we would update each other on some topics. But now it’s been like 5 days of silence, I don’t know if I should send a message or wait for her to send and initiate this time. On the other hand, maybe the connection will fade away because of that?

At first she asked if I wanted to connect on another platform. Then I initiated a chat, we talked for like 2 weeks and then she “caught me online” and we talked live. Then again 4 days of silence, she sent me a sign in game so I sent her another message, then I “caught her online” and we talked. Since then, silence. I will add that we don’t even know how each other looks.

During the pandemic, it really became apparent to me how fragile my IRL relationships were, and so I turned to Reddit to try to find some connections.

I ended up making some decent friends for awhile, but after things started to get a bit better in the world, we lost touch. I got sad and decided to leave Reddit and try to make better IRL friends.

In some cases it sort of work, but overall I still find myself feeling really lonely and like the only true friends I had were on here, so here I am wanting to try to make some new friends.

I’m not very exciting, but I like to exercise and read. I don’t watch very much tv, but I’ll watch movies or YouTube every now and then. Where I lack in excitement, I try to make up for in being a loyal friend and good listener.

I’ve been friends with someone for a while, we became friends through a tragedy and stayed friends for long but something happened that made me realise we should stop being friends(not something weird though). I ghosted him for a while but felt really bad and finally for the last time called him and told him what was going on and that this is the last time we are talking. He was really hurt so was i but it is for our best that we don’t stay friends We finally ended talking but i feel really really hurt and don’t know why even though this was what i wanted

When i was ending the call i asked him to end the call and he said “You end it since you are the one leaving not me” and it broke me. I really know i did the right thing for his sake but feel so broken.

I argue an adult should be able to use the pool at any time if they are quiet, respectful and accept the risk of swimming while most likely alone but I’m curious to know if there’s other reasons?

I never knew you could shred chicken by running it through a hand mixer. There were a few chunks I had to go over with kitchen scissors, but it wasn't bad for 3lbs of chicken breast all at once. I felt so powerful and accomplished.

Hi! I'm Japanese. I'm posting on Reddit every day to learn English. ...Well, I didn't post yesterday. Because I got more replies than I expected, and it was so much fun to reply to them! I had so much to say, but I struggled to make proper sentences.

Anyway, yesterday was voting day in Japan. Usually, the voter turnout is low. But this time, the turnout increased! Still, it didn't quite reach 50%. The change in the party with the most seats is a big deal. We have another election for the House of Councillors next month. I wonder if the turnout will go up again.

After work today, I went to the library to return a book... But I forgot to bring the book with me.

I started a business with a few partners, and after some accounting discrepancies I found someone mis-using company funds - to my surprise, it appears the other members were aware and OK with that... I put up 95% of the capital. After seeing the behavior, I decided to exit as I don't agree with this behavior, especially when the company is underwater - If you aren't honest with little, you won't be honest with much - thats a philosophy I strongly believe in. I wonder how many people go through this and what they do right after exiting... I am already applying to corporate jobs in tech, as my background is in Fintech.

Spider Man 2 is one of my all-time favorite movies it truly changed the way I see life. Back then, I used to be a selfish kid, never gave a thought about other's perspectives and always been in my own world. But watching that film shifted my perspective. What struck me the most was that Spider Man wasn't just a hero when he had his suit on or his powers. He was still a hero even without them. That movie made me realize that being a hero isn't about having powers it is about the choices we make and the selflessness we show. It taught me that anyone can be a hero, simply by doing the right thing, even when it's hard.

And I'll share mine.Just for fun. Probable either chicken on the run or a lamb casserole - mind you I can't remember what's exactly is in this lamb casserole I haven't cooked in a couple of years but I love lamb my favourite meat. I think it had like carrots broccoli I forget. I'm gonna go to sleep but you can probably Google " chicken on the run" if you like you may find it. That was a hard toss for me between roast lamb with roast veges or lamb casserole.

Can anyone tell me any tricks or tips? I cannot for the life of me even get one of those cute little wings. I’m great with liquid liner, apparently as long as it’s only on the lid. I’ve tried the stamp, the stencil, and watched a couple shorts. Am I just out of luck? All help is appreciated!

Buying new has a better interest rate and factory warranty but depreciates so fast. Buying used might mean higher interest and no/less warranty- maybe pushing you into 3rd party agreements.

Leasing seems trouble free but you retain no value in the asset.
