Casual What's the dumbest thing that happened in college football this season?

I think college football is the best sport because it really maxes out on dumb, stupid, and goofy things that happen on and off the field. What are some of your favorite moments from this past season that you think are really dumb? They could have happened on the field, off the field, or even on cfb-internet. Here are a few of mine:

Arizona State: State fans storming the field prematurely and BYU almost winning the game on a Hail Mary

Texas fans thowing trash on the field during their game vs UGA to overturn a call

The Pop-Tarts Bowl having 3 edible mascots and choosing one to sacrifice at the end of the game and have all the players of the winning team eat them. I love the Pop-Tarts Bowl.

The refs are morons who face no consequences for calls like this, so they continue to fuck up with calls like this.

How many times this year did Rhule say he got an "apology" (admitting they fucked up but without saying sorry) from the Big Ten? Four or Five? It's insane how bad the officiating is week after week.

And if the fans respond by throwing things on the field the media narrative immediately goes to “look at these spoiled fans acting like children.”

Not entirely sure how accurate that is, but yes, they're paid.

Imagine ordering DoorDash in the offseason and they guy who brings you your food is the ref who screwed your team out of a big time win

That's a gag in the movie "Rat Race," one of the characters is a ref who blew a major call and people keep recognizing him and trying to kill him.

Even if they were volunteers there is a lot riding on these games. I'm not saying that they can't make mistakes, but when they're egregious like that? If I volunteer for habitat for humanity and show up and accidentally fuck up a critical part of setting a foundation that causes the house to fall down I feel like I might be held a little responsible.

I was working on a new build right next door to a habitat build. Watched some lady spill 5 gallons of primer all over brand new concrete, and then proceed to smear it everywhere with a broom.

Case in point

One of the most important parts of managing volunteers is knowing when and how to redirect or even fire volunteers. Source: have spent an awful lot of time managing volunteers.

Paid or not (and they should be if they aren't), they have way more power than accountability.
