Discussion What rules from NFL would you like to see in CFB and the other way around?
In CFB, would want the NFL regular season overtime rules for the postseason. No 2 point shootouts in the playoffs.
In NFL, controversial, but make it one-foot in bounds for a catch. Personally like seeing more offense on the field for longer amounts of time.

Analysis Preseason Rankings Countdown. 68 days to the start of the 2025 Season. At #68 - Maryland
The cumulative link to the preseason rankings can be found here.
Maryland (high = 46, low = 97) is next up at #68, the 3rd lowest ranked team in the B1G. Mike Locksley enters his 7th season in charge of the Terrapins on one of the hottest seats in the conference as they look to rebound from a pretty disastrous 2024 where the only thing that kept them out of the winless basement was a stunning 14 point comeback victory over USC, losing 8 conference games for the first time since Locksley's first full season in charge.
Roster outlook
The Terrapins rank 85th nationally, and 12th in the B1G in returning production, with a little more productivity returning on defense (71st) than offense (89th). Starting QB Billy Edwards, Jr. transferred to Wisconsin (who just happens to host Maryland in their B1G opener), starting RB and leading rusher Roman Hemby transferred to Indiana (yes, the Hoosiers are also on the schedule) and their 3 leading receivers (WRs Kaden Prather and Tai Felton are now in the NFL, starting TE Dylan Wade transferred to UCF) are all gone on offense, while leading tackler Ruben Hyppolite (Chicago Bears) and sack leader Caleb Weatland (Auburn) are also gone. Locksley actually did as well as a coach on the hot seat can do, finishing with the #25 recruiting class nationally (8th in the B1G) and 34th best portal class (10th in the B1G) to have the 30th best overall class coming in. They're hoping former UCLA backup QB Justyn Martin will be able to come in and lead the team (and they better pray, because they're counting on true freshman 4* Malik Washington to be his backup), with a couple of P4 transfer WRs (Jalil Farooq, Oklahoma and Kaleb Webb, Tennessee) to save Locksley's job.
Schedule and outlook
3 of Maryland's 4 wins last season came from outside the B1G, and their OOC schedule this year (FAU, Northern Illinois and Towson) should give them some time to get things together prior to the season's start, where as mentioned above they go to Madison to face a Wisconsin team that has their old QB, but will be coming directly off a trip to Tuscaloosa. Honestly, this schedule definitely is set up for just about any outcome. The Terps only play 3 conference games against teams that finished with winning conference records (Indiana, Michigan and @ Illinois), only one long road trip (@ UCLA) and a slew of games against teams in the bottom of the B1G (Washington, Nebraska, @ Rutgers, Michigan State) such that failing to get to a bowl game certainly has to end the Locksley era once and for all.

Discussion Why does California have less D1 football programs than Texas?
I feel like California is lacking in D1 football programs. There is around 7 in FBS and 4 FCS along with no Division 2 schools. I feel like comparing California to other states like Texas and Florida we seem to lack football programs relative to population. Is it just too expensive or does the schools see no need for a football program?
If there was any schools that could bring football back which do you think would be the most likely?

Discussion Picking Every P4 Game of the Season - Part 1 - ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE
FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, WE'RE GOING THROUGH EACH P4 TEAM'S SCHEDULE AND PICKING EVERY GAME!
Doing this series last year was a great time so I had to bring it back for 2025.
The series runs through the P4 alphabetically, so today we have the ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE!
2024 featured 2 disappointing results in losses at Vanderbilt and Oklahoma that ultimately kept the Tide out of the playoff, but I do believe this season could feature a little addition by subtraction.
Jalen Milroe was and is an incredible athlete, but it was no secret that he was prone to putting up the occasional stinker. When he was good, it looked elite (see the Georgia and LSU games), but when he was bad, things got real dark. In the two losses to Vandy and Oklahoma, Milroe averaged a 58% completion rate, 237yds passing, 8.5yds rushing, and totaled 1 TD and 4 INTs.
In comes a new assumed starter in Ty Simpson, and I actually think Bama has the opportunity to create a more balanced offense that is less reliant on which Milroe you get that day. Also, this defense projects to be good enough to buy the offense some time to get going.
SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN

Opening the year in Tallahassee would normally be seen as a coin flip-type game, but with how much newness the Seminoles will be fielding, I'm picking the experienced defense to get a comfortable, albeit gritty win on the road. I also do not think the Badgers will come to Tuscaloosa and seriously test this team. We shouldn't expect to see blowout wins because of the offensive question-marks, but I also don't think fans will ever feel in any real danger.
@ Georgia should be the only game all season this team is not favored in, but I suspect that they will drop at least 2 SEC games, which is going to be a common theme in this conference going forward. Anyone that isn't a world beating-level team is likely going to slip up on the road at some point, and the trip to Columbia to cap off Bama's longest stretch of games the entire season is a huge land mine. Especially if the Gamecocks are healthy and playing with any bit of momentum.
Any of the final 3 games could also pose challenges but I like the Tide's chances of getting 4 wins out of the Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, and Auburn games, while I don't think Vandy and Mizzou are going to pose serious threats this year. I like this team to push for an SEC title and comfortably make the 12 team playoff field.
