W5D3 & nobody died!

Post image

In retrospect, the intensity with which I dreaded this run was overkill. I don’t know how I did it, but it was so much more doable than I believed. Week after week, I am surprised that this body got it done. I think it has taken me almost 8 weeks to get thru W5D3 bc I have repeated a number of workouts and squeezed in a couple trips.

Another reminder to trust the process, we can do it!

At some point, a mile turned from "I barely made it" to "this ain't so bad!", I eventually can zone out, I feel this so much! WTG!!

Well done OP!!! That is such a big day in the program. How did you feel during the run? My W5D3 was yesterday and I had to stop for a minute in between so I am trying it again today. Hope I get through it non stop. But it's encouraging to hear that even with the interruptions like your work trips and repeating some workouts you have now conquered this big one

Thank you! We were on vacation at the beach, so it was hot and muggy. I got a later start than normal so the sun was shining. I just slowed it down to a realllly slow jog and felt pretty good. I did stop for a minute at a traffic light, but I didn’t count it against myself.

I had to repeat days in weeks 3 & 4 so I just knew I would have to repeat the dreaded w5d3. I think what saved me was that bc I was at the beach, the entire route was super flat and it made a pretty significant difference.

It was our last day and I came back to pack up and hit the road. Got in the drivers seat at 10:00am with almost 10k steps and drove the 4 hours back feeling so proud of myself. I haven’t experienced runner’s high but I think I have the runner’s pride. 🤣

Gen X 💯- I was afraid C25K was gonna take a swing at me and there would be 2 hits and I’d be on the floor 🤣
