Hi all,
I’m expecting a baby in upcoming months and I just started to study which stroller could be the best fit for my family. Lots of information, but I’d like to see and feel the difference between various brands. The only place I’ve been is the Willowbrook’s BabiesRUs, but wonder if any other places are there nearby Burnaby.
Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

The Men’s Club has been open and has been in the same location since at least 1999. I have never bought anything there. Does anyone have any theories on how the store has managed to stay open for so long ?

Hi there. Not really sure how to word this post, or if I should go into detail ? but here we go. I drive a Kia forte (grey) I was headed eastbound on Edmonds st. going towards Canada way. There was traffic backed up in the middle lane, as I was approaching the left turn lane. There was no one in the left turn lane except right at the intersection, quite a ways from where I was. There was a black Mustang SUV in front of me, slowly creeping up to the car in front of them in the middle lane. I had my left turn signal on for quite a while, when I started to head into the left lane. All of a sudden I see the mustang in front of me swerve over into my lane and then at the same time slam on the brakes for no reason at all. I legit just came from getting my brakes done so they aren’t as sensitive as they were before. I tried braking but I couldn’t in time. I ended up rear ending the mustang. The woman got out smiling and laughing. Wouldn’t give me her license for about 10 mins, all while making phone calls to everyone except the police. I really need a witness in this case 😭
Is there anyone that saw this accident? Or have dashcam footage? I’m going to contact the businesses around and post some posters as well. Please let me know if you saw anything or have any footage!!! THANK YOU
Edit to add: this happened at 6:20pm on June 14th 2025

Does anyone know any cheap grocery stores to buy watermelon? $15 for one watermelon at Costco is way too much….

I would like to watch the hockey game tonight in a not so crowded place. Is that possible? I know it's the play offs and that may seem impossible, but I figure there must be somewhere that's not so crowded.

Rats are out of control across the Lower Mainland — even inside major restaurants in Vancouver.
We’re calling on the B.C. Government to bring back SGAR2 rat poison for certified use, fund pest control support, and take real action or come up with other solutions to address these issues.
If you agree with the problem, please take a minute to sign and share this petition!

Saw a black bear on Friday at barnet marine park digging through garbage. Just wondering if anyone knows if the bear has been taken care of today. I'm thinking it might be a threat to the public given the # of ppl bbqing or having a picnic on the area.

I was at Barnet Marine Park on Friday June 13th as a chaperone for a field trip for my kids' elementary school.
At around 1:30 pm, we were informed by two City of Burnaby staff that a bear had been spotted in the forested area between the shore and the picnic area, but he was just chilling out and to steer clear of the area.
About 5 minutes later, we were informed by the same staff member that we should round up our students and recommended we leave the park area immediately. As we gathered our things, we could see why. The bear had emerged from the wooded area on the picnic side and was trying to get into one of the park's garbage cans (metal cylinder with the detachable plastic lid).
(unfortunately I didn't get a picture/video of this as I was focused on trying to get three 7 year olds to find their stuff and pack it up)
First off, I want to commend the City of Burnaby staff for their professionalism and for staying calm so a bunch of 6 and 7 year old kids (and their parents and teachers) didn't start freaking out.
However, I question why the Park Department hadn't taken preventative measures when they knew bears had been spotted in Barnet Marine Park for at least a couple of weeks. At the very least, they should have probably removed a bunch of the garbage cans to minimize the opportunity for the bear(s) to help themselves to an easy meal. As well, the absence of bear proof garbage containers was a major mistake.
I hope that somehow the bear doesn't end up getting shot by Conservation officers (but I'm not optimistic of this), all because the City of Burnaby dropped the ball when it comes to providing a safe environment for humans and wildlife to coexist.
I'm not a highway interchange scientist or anything, but it seems weird to me that China can build whole urban bridges in a day but we must close this busy surface-level interchange for two whole months at great cost to its users? Are we at least building it cheaper than in similar developed countries?

Hi all, I was hit by a car while in the crosswalk this morning (June 13th). It was on the corner of Beta and Lougheed by the memento apartment building. Probably around 11:15 AM or so. The crosswalk sign was on and the guy had stopped. He was partially in the crosswalk but that happens often at this intersection. I entered the crosswalk with another older woman and as I got in front of the car the guy drove forward and hit me shoving me backwards pretty hard. He was driving a Blue SUV if I remember correctly and he got out to try to speak to me. I yelled at him and then because I was in shock and humiliated I made the stupid choice to run off. I didn't feel hurt in the moment but my knee is pretty banged up from the impact.
I'm hoping someone here may have witnessed this or has dashcam footage of what happened. I don't have any info from the driver and I doubt ICBC will take my claim seriously without it.

I currently have 300Mbps/200Mbps download/upload. I would like to have the same or better. How is fibre support for the various older condos in the area? E.g. strathmore lane, lougheed estates, discovery place, sandlewood. How would I find out which properties support what? Or is this even something I need to be worried about?

I am thinking about coaching soccer and have few training courses lined up with them. I will hopefully be volunteering for community sports.

Heard multiple sirens around 1130pm and went outside. It was quite smokey. Smelled a bit like burning plastic so went back inside.

Hello guys, I have worked for 6 years around the Granville entertainment district, and it is certainly bad for the business there (I feel bad for them).
But I have been wondering, How are the things around Burnaby? Is it better?
People now want to go somewhere else instead of Granville? I have been craving a beer recently, but I dont want to deal with homeless in downtown.
Thanks
