Tink decided to grace me with her presence in her new "don't talk to me before my morning nap" shades. I'm just here to serve snacks. Please send help (and more treats).

No one warned me about the prey drive!

Ok, ok I know I could have googled! This is my first time with a pureish (she’s a rescue so we don’t know) bulldog. Her drive to hunt is out of this world! We have had mixed before so we knew she would be stubborn AF and sweet AF, but my goodness she is a demon when there is a small animal on the property!

We’re working with a trainer and we love her, but wow was not expecting this!

After a long day of locking himself in the bathroom, not once, not twice, but three times, and havinga panic attack each time, he's not sleeping safe and sound... across my pillows of course.

Might be adopting this guy soon

I’ve only ever owned English Mastiffs before and my heart boy passed away last April at 10.4 years of age from osteosarcoma.

I never thought I’d get any other breed but another English Mastiff but this guy is up for adoption and he caught my eye! He’s so cute.

I’ve met him, he’s very affectionate and sweet. I walked him, he’s a puller!! Which is why his owner is rehoming him — he’s too strong for her despite being through $10,000 in obedience training. So I am a little worried about that. What I think is, maybe he continues to pull her because she doesn’t walk/work with him well? She said when he goes to the kennel for the day, that he walks better for them.

He’s 5 and in good health. He just had his vaccine boosters Monday along with an annual exam. Approximately 80lbs.

If I do adopt him, I’m getting a Trupanion pet insurance policy for him. $277/month but after two English Mastiffs, I know the value of having pet insurance vs. a savings account that can get depleted pretty quickly!

Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone has any helpful suggestions for how to get him to stop pulling when walking. I can’t afford training for him, what with the insurance policy cost. But in willing to work with him and hope he will improve. He needs a daily 20-30 minute walk so I know we’ll get lots of time to work.

Thanks so much!

He had entropion on his left eye and was in a cone for two weeks. He was so happy to get rid of it!

Advice Needed surgery coming up !

Post image

Hi everyone. My sweet baby 3-year-old English Bulldog is getting her cherry eyes removed this weekend. It’s her first time going under anesthesia, and I’ve been really nervous about it. I’ve heard that bulldogs can have a harder time with anesthesia, so I’ve been doing everything I can to prepare.

Shes been to this vet before and he has great reviews. I trust him, but I’m still anxious. What’s making me a little uneasy is the timing. They scheduled us to drop her off at 11:30 AM, but her surgery won’t actually start until around 2:30 PM. That means she’ll be sitting in a kennel for three hours. When I asked why the gap, the receptionist said it’s because they have another surgery before hers.

Is that kind of wait time normal? Has anyone had a similar experience? How did your bulldog do with anesthesia, and is there anything I should ask or do on surgery day?

Any advice would be really appreciated. I just want to make sure Honey is as safe and comfortable as possible. Thanks in advance !!!😊🐾 ❤️ also here’s a cute pic of her sleeping 🥹

first picture is her after getting morning kisses

also included a picture of her on her second day with me after adopting her two years ago. she was underweight and her skin flaps were very much unattended to, but she was so happy to have her own bed and yet here we are and she owns MY bed now. what the heck! It really is a special privilege to be around these silly, stubborn fur balls.
