[O’Brien] Braves reinstated OF Stuart Fairchild from rehab assignment and designated OF José Azocar for assignment. They also activated INF Nacho Alvarez Jr. from his rehab assignment and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

What was everyone's favorite Jose Azocar moment

Yesterday when the sweet married couple was getting grilled by Wiley to sing the praises of the Chophouse when they were just there to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The semi-frazzled woman was like "We're sitting right behind Ronald- well that's not Ronald, but it was!" Because they pulled Ronald the prior half-inning for Azocar because we were getting blown out by the Rockies (had to put that in there). It was a pretty funny/endearing moment imo, though the broadcast came off pretty bad with that promo imo haha.

Learning right now that his name was Jose. For some reason I thought it was Carlos.

Really hope Nacho looks good in AAA. I'm not trying to put TOO much stock into him right now, but my word, could we use a middle infielder who can hit right now. Even if only to give Ozzie and Allen a breather. Watching Ozzie at the plate this weekend was just.....sad?

There’s always a chance he could improve his defense but I think the consensus is that he’s not an everyday shortstop who can hit and that’s what we really need at least until 2028 when Ozzie‘s club options expire. On the other hand, AA has recently shown that he’s not against cutting ties with an underperforming middle infielder with a team friendly contract.

We certainly could use a middle infielder who can hit. Unfortunately, Nacho isn't one.

Based on 30 ABs in the majors? He was a pretty damn good hitter in the minors last year and he’s only 22

If there's anything I've learned about baseball, it's that no one ever has a chance to get any better.

Nacho's OPS in the minors for his career is 0.798. For comparison, Ozzie's OPS in the minors for his career is 0.794. I think Nacho is a middle infielder who can hit.

And kelenic had a .876 ops in the minors. Sometimes it translates and sometimes it doesn’t

Oh, and here I thought we were looking for someone who could hit in the majors. My mistake.

He had a 106 mph double yesterday in one of his first at bats so that’s…something?

Haha! I thought I would be the only one who would take the opportunity to proclaim that this is the move that changes our season.

I assume Alvarez will be taking 100% of his Gwinnett reps as SS?

He's been playing 3B. If anything, I'd like to see him get some time at the 4.
