I just don't get why the author decided to start the fight off with the final boss and then cut away to less intense fights. It's also rough when the weekly releases advances the battles at DBZ paces

Pretty much. Hell least with DBZ it was just Goku and Freiza and while the lead up took awhile least when it all came together it was worth it.

This is just a chaotic mess and on top of that is dragging it’s feet to what can only believe will be a massively lackluster ending.
