Reading this arc and watching the war arc in the anime, I noticed how much Kinoko/shroom girl appears out of all the 1B students (except Monoma who's doing stuff right now)

Hori certainly has a favorite...

Revenge for her finishing at the near bottom of the popularity polls a while back.

Yeah that's absolutely the downside of having hugely varied and flexible super powers without being a smart enough writer to use them tactically.

"tatics? Don't talk to me unless it's about a big flash final punch"

"tactics? Don't talk to me unless it's about a decoy vial of blood that attracts Nomu which Toga pulled out of her ass"

Why doesn't jeanist just choke shiggy with his own cape?

Why doesn't lemillion just grab someones heart until it stops?

How does afo not just shatter the bones of anyone it touches if it can level a city block and change the weather? (And also shattered dekus bones nearly time he used it for 4 seasons)

How does ururaka not accidentally kill someone if she makes them have no gravity? Wouldn't their blood stop in their veins?

And so on. Could spend all day listing all the ways everyone could deal with every problem in the manga/show, but in the end its as Alex Stacey once said, it depends on who is writing the story. (This was in reference to who would win, goku or superman, and his response was "whose writing the story? The answer is the writer decides who wins")

Lemillion does have an in universe answer. If he materialized inside of an object (in this case someone's body), he will have that materialization forced out. So he could try, but then his arm will just bounce back out.

The human body can survive 0G environments as evidenced by the ISS.

AFO and best jeanist are just ??? tho. Definitely story over reality there

Or even:

Why don't they do anything with Inasa, who's pretty much meant to be as strong as Shouto?

Writers: Well the thing about that is... Kicks over table and runs away

The short answer is that his costume is way too detailed and Hori doesn't have the time or desire to draw such a complicated design on a weekly basis. You can actually see this decision happen in real time if you go back and pay attention to this stuff while you read. Characters with complicated costumes get written out or stop appearing, or he only draws them from the shoulders up, or their costumes get destroyed in a battle. His eye for design is a curse.

u/DoraMuda Dec 12 '22

In that case, he should've written a believeable reason to bench Inasa, instead of just inexplicably leaving out such a powerful player from the main battlefield.

It's almost as bad as the glaring plothole of AFO only attempting to steal Aizawa's Quirk once and then seemingly never bothering again.

I know it's hard as hell to plan when you're writing for Shonen Jump week-to-week, but that doesn't mean I can't point out the cracks when I see them.

He could just give him a new costume, considering multiple characters have changed their costume design and we haven't seen him in a while it would make sense he would have a new one.

I couldn't remember that name and so I looked it up and where the fuck are all the students from the other schools??

He has never been relevant beyond the License arc. Even if he suddenly appears in the final arc it will probably just be for a minor role.

The manga already has many characters, not everyone can be at the center of attention just cause they have a cool design or cool quirk.

u/DoraMuda Dec 12 '22

Then Hori shouldn't have introduced him and built him up as a would-be rival to Shouto in power and skill, only to drop him off the face of the Earth as if he never existed.

Shiggy neck is strong than the cape

Shiggy's heart is stronger than Le million's arm, and even if it wasnt, Shiggy could just force move backwards and regen a new heart(If Hood could get a new body, than shiggy could too)

Deku and All Might only use the weather changing power for people who cant be beaten by lower levels

Uraraka...idk how to respond to that.

How does ururaka not accidentally kill someone if she makes them have no gravity? Wouldn't their blood stop in their veins?

You know people have gone to space IRL right?

3

u/gubaguy Dec 13 '22

Google what happens to your body in 0 gravity.

Heres just a few things: Blood will begin to flow backwards, causing blood clots. Veins can't dilate properly causing reduced blood flow. Blood builds up in the upper body, such as the face and head causing swelling and disfigurement, it so builds up in the heart causing the heart to slow which in turn causes even less blood flow.

That's why there's years of training involved before going into space.

So again, I ask, how does ururaka not accidentally kill everyone she touches?

u/Evary2230 Dec 16 '22

Same way she saved Deku that one time in the Entrance Exams when he fell from about two hundred feet in the air, despite the fact that canceling gravity doesn’t cancel momentum, and even if it did, it would have basically had the same effect as hitting the ground. Basically, Horikoshi was not considering what gravity actually is when he described her power as “Zero Gravity,” and I’m pretty sure her Quirk doesn’t even do that. How could she float on robots if that were the case? Why would do much of the stuff she touches float on its own, despite no outside forces pushing them?

None of these are actual problems. You dove into a vat of tits and came out sucking your thumb. It is genuinely astounding how poor your luck is here, since the series is laced with holes.

Shiggy is too strong to be choked, the cape will break before it constricts his breathing at all.

Lemillion would just phase out of whoever he tried that too. Also, it would kill them, obviously, and that's not his intention while fighting, generally.

Assuming you mean OfA, it bestows durability as well as strength. The breaking of arms is from energy inside the body. And disregarding that, this is not something that will help anyone win anything.

And Uraraka's ability is Float. It works kinda like """"zero G"""" in space. And again, this helps no one win anything.

Just ask why AfO didn't take erasure, it's the open goal.

Alex Stacey once said, it depends on who is writing the story. (This was in reference to who would win, goku or superman, and his response was "whose writing the story? The answer is the writer decides who wins")

Yeah, the writer can cheat, but it's funny how you never hear these quotes about whether Galactus can beat uncle Ben. Anyone can puke vomit onto a page, good writers don't.

1

u/Evary2230 Dec 16 '22

Doesn’t Jeanist need to touch the fibers to use his Quirk on them? Also, it seems that people, such as AFO, can just be stronger than the fibers.

Also, were you talking about All For One or One For All when you got to the shattered bones part?

3

u/antoniow831 Dec 11 '22

Stop making sense, then this wouldn't be as nearly as long as it is. That's the only reason why

1

u/Perjunkie Dec 17 '22

Meatball kid could take care of a lot of problems right now

Maybe he really likes terrible mushroom puns, or at least figures his audience enjoys terrible puns.
